John Collins just signed with the Hawks. So much for dreaming of getting him in the TT trade. So with that out of the way, I hope the final details of the TT deal is announced soon.
Maybe sign & trade
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Melo to the Lakers:

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/31951269/los-angeles-lakers-carmelo-anthony-agree-one-year-contract

So after all these years he finally joins Lebron. The Lakers are basically Lebron, AD and a bunch of ring chaser add-ons

Obviously we have many NBA players all aboard the "Let's get LeBron another ring" train.

If so then the Beal dream is highly unlikely now? Unless Al is moved?

I'd like JJ Redick as 3rd string SG. He a bad year last season but I believe he can have a comeback year. Not convinced by shooters suddenly forgetting how to shoot.

Redick would be a great locker room guy as well. A pro's pro who will set a good example to all the younger guys on the team on how to prepare in order to succeed in the NBA.

Good fallback option should Romeo fail to make the grade as a rotation player next season (due to his terrible shooting). We need a good 3rd string SG. It is important precisely because Romeo is so undependable.
He'd also be worth his weight in gold if he can impart some off-ball movement know-how onto Nesmith
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I don't hate that.  We needed an actual NBA player for our third-string big, given the health/age concerns of our top two, and Kanter is that.  Ideally, he won't play very much.  But he can come in and contribute situationally, and he can step into a larger role if Williams or Horford get banged up.

Solid, if unexciting.
We need functional NBA players on the roster period, meaning guys who you know what you're getting night to night. He's at least that.

With Collins signed, I would think that ATL would want to move Gallinari.  Not sure how we could help them with that.  We would have to send out at least $16.5M or so.  Thompson is $9.7M.  Would need another $8M'ish to trade for him.

Why do you people think that we want to take on money here?  The entire off-season has been about pinching pennies for “flexibility” next off-season.

If there is a follow-up move, it will be to dump salary or remain salary neutral.

Wyc says no to Gallinari. References something about flexibility. And saving money.

Especially for a role player like Fournier

its amazing how many are mad about this

Its also time to give long looks/mins for  -  Nesmith,  Langford.   Jabari Parker

Oladipo back to Miami

Wonder what those terms are. I'm not sure how he's going to hold up physically. Back to back quad tears is concerning.

Oladipo back to Miami
I wonder if Oladipo would come off the bench and be a 6th man for Miami.

G: Lowry
G: Oladipo
F: Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson
F: PJ Tucker
C: Adebayo

vs

G: Lowry
G: Jimmy Butler, Oladipo
F: Duncan Robinson
F: PJ Tucker
C: Adebayo

It just feels like that first lineup needs some more shooting on it. Plus Oladipo needs the ball and that is Jimmy's ball. Then Lowry's ball. Then Dipo's. 3rd option. Maybe he'd be more comfortable coming off the bench and being the main or 2nd option for most of the game and then finishing the game as a 3rd option after he is in a groove offensively (been involved more during the game).

He'll probably come off the bench. I'm thinking:

G: Lowry
G: Jimmy Butler
F: Duncan Robinson
F: PJ Tucker
C: Adebayo

With Dipo, Herro, Markieff, and Dedmon rounding out the main rotation.
