Sounds like Beal about to request trade out of Washington

A package for Beal will start with Jaylen Brown. Get it done Brad.

I love Beal but I can't believe how quickly people want to trade Brown to get it done.  This does not make us better.  Brown is on a legit bargain deal.  In order for the C's to trade Brown the C's would need to get back 1st round picks as well as beal.  Beal is a FA after this year and while we all think he'd resign with the team because of Tatum you just never know.  the Wizards will get a good haul but they will not get a Star like Brown in return because the team trading for Beal won't know if he will resign.

Source: If Brad Beal does in fact move forward and request a trade, Boston would be a preferred destination to play with longtime friend Jayson Tatum and compete for a championship.

It's getting real!

To be honest, though, Tatum needs to be on the phone with Beal now telling him that he needs to demand a trade to Boston and say he won't resign anywhere else (i.e. AD, Harden, etc.). That's the only way we'll be able to do this and potentially keep Brown. Would likely mean virtually every other asset we have, but, hey, you kind of have to do it to get the chance for all three of them together if that's the way we really want to go.

(Still not necessarily a huge fan of that threeway grouping, but at this point given where we're at and where the league is at, you have to have that level of talent to compete, even if top-heavy. As a strategist and GM, I trust Brad to put the right players around them, and hopefully Ime can make it work.)

I agree. For better or worse, players have the leverage in these situations as we see regularly in the NBA.

If Beal does ask for a trade and says he won't re-sign anywhere else other than Boston, we can get it done with something like Horford, Nesmith/Langford plus picks. That's still a decent deal for the Wizards. If needed, I'd include Rob Williams in the deal.

Looks like the Beal rumor could be false:

Yeah can’t trust these unverified, untrustworthy ‘source’ guys.

Similarly in the entertainment industry, these guys will say anything to make an name for themselves…especially in the click bait era.

Only trust the big name national guys (Woj, Shams) and the local beat reporters who are always around the team, with some type of accountability.

Jake Fischer has spent the whole offseason trying to pass himself off as some kind of Celtics insider.

No, that's a lateral move, and there's no way Washington gets Brown if Beal demands out. Harden didn't command anyone near Brown

correct me if I’m wrong but it’s quite possible we clear enough cap space to land Beal after this year (and still fill out a roster). No reason we should trade Brown for Beal. For someone like KAT maybe. We aren’t competing for title next season (unless weird luck/major injuries) so don’t make moves without a future.

It's true, but we'd have to not re-sign Fournier or re-sign him on a short deal, let Smart walk and I think stretch Horford's last year, which is partially guaranteed

You would need to let Timelord walk as well so you’d have JT/JB/BB and pretty much nothing else.

Indeed. Which is why I'd rather trade for him now and lose Smart, Thompson, Langford/Nesmith/PP and picks than lose Smart, TT, Horford and Rob

Horfords deal becomes guaranteed if we win the title so we have to be really careful to not be too good

Hey, if we win the title I don't care how big Wyc's tax bill is ;D And I assume, neither will he

Love to see it!

That said, could this be construed as tampering by another player? I know that player-to-player tampering is essentially happening all the time behind the scenes and is not something that I remember them ever punishing a player for, but still need to be somewhat careful I think. Anyone know the rules on this?
