Think Evan Turner and (hopefully) Jabari Parker: Who are some rehabilitation projects, guys who came into the league with promise and under-delivered, we can add to our bench this off-season?

A dozen that come to mind:

Dante Exum
Dragan Bender
Mario Hezonja
Nerlens Noel
Alex Len
Nik Stauskas
Stanley Johnson
Georgios Papagiannis
Harry Giles
Jerome Robinson
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Anthony Bennett (LOL JK)

Noel and Stanley Johnson the guy we wanted to trade 4 firsts for. What happened with SJ anyway. Just terrible now?

Exum and Bender could be in the league if they stayed healthy (Exum) or really worked on their body (Bender).  The rest of them are probably busts except I dont really know about Giles

He actually has started half a dozen games this season with the Raptors, but not much is happening. He’s almost surely a bust, but worth a roll at the minimum if the opportunity presents itself (he turns 25 next month).

If memory serves: Coming out of High School, Giles was seen as potentially the top 2017 NBA draft pick if his promise held up at Duke, but he got injured and his stock plummeted. Seem to recall reading that he’s friends with Jayson, though (they played their single season at Duke together). Am very intrigued by him.

Yeah, suspect someone is going to bring Bender back to the NBA and be pleasantly surprised. The dude is still only 23 and now weighs 250.

Exum is intriguing, too.

Personally would love to see us sign Bender, Exum and Giles to cheap two year deals with a team option on the second year. Suspect one of the three will blossom into an NBA starter and another into a rotational player.

Do you recall which four firsts they ended up being? Rozier, Hunter, Dancing Bear, and Zizic, right? Funny how Rozier was best of the five.

Bender is only 23 and is a 7 footer who can hit the 3. He was always going to be a project. I'd sign him to a three year contract with a team option in 2nd and third years.

I’d gamble on Jerome Robinson or Harry Gilles. They are still very young. Parker just turned 26 the other day, but a project player should be 25 or under, IMO.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I'd be fine with Len as a 3rd string big if we let Kornet go, same with Noel, but other than that not much interest in any of these guys
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I wouldn't even want Len. Noel is the only guy on that list I would try to get. I see all the rest as lost causes

Only problem with Noel is that he's actually decent! Might want to go somewhere with a more defined role for him, similar to what he sees in New York without Robinson

I think one reclamation project at a time is the correct pace.  We cant spend too many roster spots on these type of players.  Next year’s will be Parker, so we should keep an eye on players from Brown’s and Tatum’s classes who are in their mid-20s and looking to re-establish themselves.

Depending how his next year goes, I think Zach Collins could be such a player.
