Poku 4-8 from 3; 14 points

Maledon 20 points

OKC drafted well!!

I really wanted Poku. Hi risk hi reward. We could really use his length.

So did I.  Draft for upside with Poku at #14.  Then draft Bane at #26 whose arguably better than Nesmith and certainly more NBA ready.

Was there a doubt?  He shot 38% from 3 as a freshman and then at least 42% for his last 3 seasons.  More proven shooter than Nesmith.

Shall we wait until more than 1 preseason game before we start this "we should have drafted him instead!!!" wrist slitting? Nesmsith hasn't even played yet lol.

I'm guessing this sets the seeds for Nesmith is a bust narrative. ;D

I said who I'd draft before the draft.  I believe you should draft for upside when you can.  Nesmith may turn out fine but I don't see the upside.

Nesmith's upside as a shooter is far higher than Bane's, and with an established team like we have, we don't need projects like Poku. Taking a victory lap by saying he's "arguably better" than Nesmith after a single preseason game is a bit premature, no?

What do you expect? With no summer league this year, we all have to fit our rookie/sophomore hot takes into a few preseason games instead
I'm bitter.

The KD-Kyrie Nets looking really good so far, and so do the new look Hawks. If you add the Westbrook era Wizards and the Doc coached Sixers to that group, along with the Celtics, Bucks, Raptors and Heat, the East is going to be very tough this season.

I really wonder if Ainge will regret trading him for a 2nd round pick.  I get that he didn’t want too many rookies and there would be a concern about playing time between him, Langford, and Nesmith, but he may turn out to be a player.  I wish we kept him.  Cutting Carson Edwards or Green would not have been a big deal.

I wish we kept him too. You can. Never have too many shooters.
