It's crazy, but it seems that Trump is coming back. I'm not sure that there's anyone as hated/loved available to generate more buzz than DJT in the 2024 election.
It's goofy, but fun to look at Bovada betting odds. The Rock has a better chance than AOC or Ted Cruz.
Donald Trump +300
Joe Biden +425
Kamala Harris +500
Ron DeSantis +1000
Nikki Haley +1500
Mike Pence +2500
Pete Buttigieg +2500
‘The Rock’ +3300
Cory Booker +4000
Liz Warren +4000
John Kasich +4000
Ted Cruz +4000
AOC +5000
Amy Klobuchar +5000
Andrew Cuomo +5000
Kanye West +5000
Kristi Noem +5000
Mark Cuban +5000
Does America really want more DJT? I don't know anyone that likes him in my circles. The consensus is that he's dim and has questionable decision-making.
If it's not Trump, who's winning this thing?!?
There are three more years. The Dems will get killed in 2022 (in the House, but maybe not the Senate). But 2024 is ages away. If we have peace and prosperity, he could win reelection.
Are those actual odds that you can bet on? If so, go place $25 on DeSantis.
+1000 is 10 to 1 right?(I am so NOT a bettor)
I'm with Roy. I probably throw $50 on DeSantis at this point.
Hate the dude. Think he has been a terrible governor here in Florida. I think if he wasn't so Trumpy there could be 15000-20000 Floridians that wouldn't have had to die from Covid, and to me that's unforgivable. But Trumpists love him and he is probably more electable than Trump.
If I were 30 years younger and Trump wins in 2024, I would leave the country. There's not a doubt in my mind about that.
As for who wins I think I'd favor Nikki Haley, John Kasich, or Mark Cuban. I think a progressive Dem makes the big picture worse and a Trump puppet is only marginally better than Trump himself. I guess I know nothing but I'd think Liz Cheney or Kinzinger should be on the list and at least be higher than Kanye, AOC or Cuomo.
Why Cuban? I'd be good with Kasich. I might have been okay with Cruz at some point, but not anymore.
I was half-joking re: Cuban -- my thought about Cuban is that he's not a politician, he's a smart guy, and is a pretty straight shooter with business acumen and likely has some appeal across a wide swath. No one immediately hates him in a political sense. Looking for someone who could confidently lead and be sane and moderate. But he'd probably be exposed as out of his element if he really got his hat in the ring.
For an obviously brilliant guy who wants nothing more than power, Cruz really has played some bad cards. I could never stand him, but I think he's turned a lot of people off who could have been in his camp.
In another thread Tazz brought up Larry Hogan who I think would be great. Not so charismatic but intelligent, sane, right temperament and moderate.
