It's crazy, but it seems that Trump is coming back. I'm not sure that there's anyone as hated/loved available to generate more buzz than DJT in the 2024 election.

It's goofy, but fun to look at Bovada betting odds. The Rock has a better chance than AOC or Ted Cruz.

There are three more years.  The Dems will get killed in 2022 (in the House, but maybe not the Senate).  But 2024 is ages away.  If we have peace and prosperity, he could win reelection.

Hate the dude. Think he has been a terrible governor here in Florida. I think if he wasn't so Trumpy there could be 15000-20000 Floridians that wouldn't have had to die from Covid, and to me that's unforgivable. But Trumpists love him and he is probably more electable than Trump.

I was half-joking re: Cuban -- my thought about Cuban is that he's not a politician, he's a smart guy, and is a pretty straight shooter with business acumen and likely has some appeal across a wide swath.  No one immediately hates him in a political sense.  Looking for someone who could confidently lead and be sane and moderate.  But he'd probably be exposed as out of his element if he really got his hat in the ring.

For an obviously brilliant guy who wants nothing more than power, Cruz really has played some bad cards.  I could never stand him, but I think he's turned a lot of people off who could have been in his camp. 

In another thread Tazz brought up Larry Hogan who I think would be great.  Not so charismatic but intelligent, sane, right temperament and moderate.

Larry Hogan, John Kasich, Charlie Baker, Liz Chaney, Anthony Gonzalez and Phil Scott are all Republicans this liberal would vote for. I think they represent Reagan Republicans more than most other so called Republicans. Sadly, I think most have absolutely no desire to run for President in this political environment.

A Liz Chaney vs Pete Buttigieg election might be fun to see. Never gonna happen but I can dream, right,?

Larry Hogan is a really good politician.  Having experienced both him and Charlie Baker as governors, I assure you that Hogan is a terrible executive.  I think Hogan is best described as Republican Andrew Cuomo.

Biden is sub 50% on the approvals.  Trump numbers are still worse by about 6 points and through his first year as President, he was below 50% the whole way.

True.  Dems got no one who would have enough national appeal to win in 2024 -  if the republicans put up a viable candidate.    I think Biden struggles to the finish line for one term and hopefully calls it a day.  I’m not anti-Biden but I do think there’s credence to him not looking like a guy who should be POTUS for the next 7 years. 

Kamala was chosen because she was seen as an asset to the ticket or at least someone who wouldn’t be costly.  She was a pretty bad candidate in the primaries and hasn’t been impressive since.  She’s had a lot of opportunity to shine and hasn’t. If Dems see her as the heir apparent they’re in some deep trouble for ‘24.

Sept 26  Trump announces Amy Coney Barrett at an event. Several attendees later have COVID

Sept 29  The debate was held and between the 26th and 29th several prep sessions were held including with Chris Christy who later was very ill with COVID

Oct 1  Trump hospitalized

Since Trump was hospitalized with severe COVID symptoms on Oct 1, is there really any question that Trump really did have COVID on Sept 26 when he had a positive test?  Do we really think that the White House medical staff was not able to know this through testing and that they didn't know he had COVID until his symptoms were so bad he had to be hospitalized?
