After yet another mediocre performance tonight it's obvious this Celtics team is in trouble.

Although the C's are 11-4 something is not right.  After barely beating Minnesota and New Jersey, Doc said it was due to fatigue and the tough early season schedule.  It stood to reason that after getting rest and practicing regularly the team would resume playing solid basketball.

Alas that hasn't been the case.  Losing to Atlanta at home was tough but understandable, the follow up loss to Indiana while giving up 113 points was disconcerting.  After another break the C's struggled against Golden State and lost to Orlando. Needing a late comeback against the Knicks was surprising.  Then the C's had 2 days off and were playing a Philly team missing 2 starters and on a back to back.  They barely win at home and give up 110 points to a team that is average offensively.

Doc and the players talk about how this is a defensive team.  However they have given up over 100 points in 4 out of the last 5 games!  Fatigue can't be the excuse as the  C's have gotten plenty of rest recently.

KG is hobbling, doesn't rebound anymore and can't stay in front of whoever he is guarding.  Ray appears to have lost a step and can't hit 3 pointers.  Rondo has to be the worst shooter at guard in the NBA.  Rasheed only wants to shoot 3 pointers now but can't hit them.

It's still early and plenty of time for the Celtics to improve.  It just doesn't look good when they appear old and tired when the season has barely started.  It's also mind boggling that a defensive team appears incapable of actually playing defense now even when fully rested.  When Paul Pierce is having to pull of amazing performances to beat teams such as Philly and the Knicks that something isn't working.

Definitely cause for concern...
