So then why did they bother signing him?

Sometimes, it seems this franchise has literally no direction.

It’s a ten-day contract. It’s only a big deal on message boards because we’re in a news drought. Nobody we get now as a free agent is going to make an impact. Maybe they just wanted a body for practice.

Danny knows what he is doing.  We are not privy to all the information that he has.  The C's probably signed Moose as a stop gap because of injuries and may have all along had no intention of keeping Moose beyond the 10 day because someone else is on the line or maybe they aren't going to sign anyone at all.  There are a lot of factors in play and without all the information it is tough to second guess the C's decisions.

Happy to have had him back for a short stint. I understand why he didn't necessarily fit with what Stevens is looking to do, but at least he was able to step right in as an emergency replacement with so many big bodies out. I definitely hope for the best for Moose - he seems like a good guy.

I still expect to see Robinson signed to a deal with a non-guarantee for next year just before the season is over. That seemed like the plan anyway when they brought him to the Red Claws (too much smoke there).

Not a bad idea to feed Brett Brown some Brad Stevens basketball strategies and how to expose him.

Then again, the Celtics have had chemistry problems even the 76ers can't seem to figure them out 3 out of 4 times this year, and the fourth time being a very close contest down to the wire.

True. However, Monroe was also with the Raptors, potential second round opponent for the 76ers, from August until February's trade deadline.

I'm sure the Cs will sign someone for the simple fact they need the non-guaranteed salary on the books to help with a potential AD trade salary match this off-season.

I don't think non-guaranteed salaries count for trade matching anymore.
I am definitely not the most knowledgeable cap guy around but I believe the idea is to sign someone to a non guaranteed contract that the C's will guarantee if they use him in trade this summer, if not needed they will be released before the guarantee date.  It would be like finding money on the street for someone like Thomas Robinson or whoever.

I am available to be a body that represents a non-guaranteed contract....

Either way, the Celtics have to finish off the Pacers and deal with the Bucks later (assuming they beat their 8-seeded opponent). It won't be easy.

Do you guys actually think teams bring in players to figure out the plays that the teams the players formally played for run? I am pretty sure due to about 80 games being played and their being video footage of it all, that, a team's scouting department would have all the plays and tendencies of the other team already.
