Note: Pick #11, unless anyone can prove otherwise, belongs to Make Me Some Bacon. I was able to find confirmation of a trade that involved that pick (hat tip to Gainesville for the help).

If there's any other discrepancy that needs to be corrected, please let me know.

Each of you will have 5 (2nd round) or 10 minutes (1st round) to post your pick in this thread. The time listed next to each pick is the time the pick is due. Any GM who fails to post a selection by the deadline and who has not sent me a sufficient list of preferences will be assigned the best available player based on the results of the actual 2011 NBA draft.

[Example: the team with the #8 pick fails to make a selection by the deadline, and both Tristan Thompson and Brandon Knight are still available. While Knight was picked #8 in the actual draft, Thompson was picked at #4, so he would be the default selection.]

Also, I'd like to propose that starting this season, we will expand the lottery to include the bottom 12 teams. Each of these teams will have the chance to move into the top 3 of the draft, based on the chances of the corresponding NBA teams. This will be one item up for voting.

Also, I'd like to implement the anti-tanking strategy that we discussed during and after this past season: each team's point total will be increased by the average number of points per game times the number of unused games remaining at the end of the season. These revised standings will then be used to determine draft order and lottery chances.

As I mentioned earlier, I had in my excel sheet that GomesFan held the pick (via MMSB via Ubunuts) but I don't know for what. Speak now or forever hold your peace GF.

I guess I vote yes.
Don't feel strongly either way.

Also, I'd like to implement the anti-tanking strategy that we discussed during and after this past season: each team's point total will be increased by the average number of points per game times the number of unused games remaining at the end of the season. These revised standings will then be used to determine draft order and lottery chances.

I vote yes, but want to clarify 2 things so everyone is clear:

(1) each team under 902 games will have points added to their total? there is no accpetable # of games missed? 30 games = 2.7 gms missed/position; 55 games = 5 missed per position.

(2) Are we adding league-wide average (25.62 = 437,907.55 overall points / 17,093 games) or a team's individual average?

I'd suggest the former. In addition to saving you a step (i.e. figuring each team's avg) it seems to me this rewards a team that played all their games (i.e. was active) but whose players stink.

I have the math on this if you want, but a quick example of the difference:

#17 Blatche Poop Shoes (18059 in 876 games) 1634 pts ahead of..
#20 Toines Boys (16424 in 832 games)

in either scenario BPS moves up to #19, TB stays #20

Adding each team's individual average:
BPS = 20.62 * 26 gms = 536 + 18059 = 18595.05
TB = 19.74 * 70 gms = 1381.86 + 16424 = 17806.31

TB ahead by 788.73

Adding league wide average (25.62):
BPS = 25.62 * 26 gms =666.12 + 18059 = 18725.17
TB = 25.62 * 70 gms = 1,793.4 + 16424 = 18217.85

TB ahead by 507.32 --- this method rewards teams more for playing more games b/c the penalty is bigger for those teams who play fewer games.

for #1, I would go with every game under 902 should result in points added, no exceptions

#2, I prefer using the league wide average instead of each team's average, I believe this is more fair overall
