Here is where we will conduct the rookie draft for our Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball Points League.

The draft will take place on Friday, September 11. The first pick will be due at 12:30 Eastern time (9:30 Pacific).

Each of you will have 10 minutes to post your pick in this thread. The time listed next to each pick is the time the pick is due. Any GM who fails to post a selection by the deadline and who has not sent me a sufficient list of preferences will be assigned the best available player based on the results of the actual 2009 NBA draft. [Example: the team with the #8 pick fails to make a selection by the deadline, and both Ricky Rubio and Jordan Hill are still available. While Hill was picked #8 in the actual draft, Rubio was picked at #5, so he would be the default selection.]

Any college and international players who declared for the 2009 draft are eligible to be picked. This means that the pool of eligible players is larger than the 60 players that were picked by NBA teams in the 2009 NBA draft. Rather than post a list of available players, I'll simply link to the results of the draft:

Just bumping this thread, to raise awareness. I've PMed or emailed all GMs, but I'm a little worried this isn't on people's radar.

It would soothe my anxieties a bit if people could respond to my PM, so I know we'll have activity on draft day.

Until Yahoo! registration for the upcoming season opens, yes.

Once the new season becomes available on Yahoo!, I will import rosters, and we'll shift everything over there.

Based on the low number of responses, I am going to make a slight change to the draft, to ensure that we don't have to run through it again.

Instead of being skipped, any GM who fails to post a selection by the deadline and who has not sent me a sufficient list of preferences will be assigned the best available player based on the results of the actual 2009 NBA draft. {This was how things were for last year's draft, and I think it worked well.}

Example: the team with the #8 pick fails to make a selection by the deadline, and both Ricky Rubio and Jordan Hill are still available. While Hill was picked #8 in the actual draft, Rubio was picked at #5, so he would be the default selection.

I think that is best Lucky.  Of course, I feel bad for whoever gets Rubio, but I guess thats their fault for not sending you a list.
