Worth slightly overpaying to better balance the roster IMO.  These are the moves that Danny seldom made. It was almost always about value with him, and he had a blind spot for roster balance.  Brad seems to be far more focused on this than Danny was. Hope it equates to more winning.

Also, I'm curious if we had to use one of the trade exceptions on this deal?  We can't aggregate Dunn for salary matching purposes until October, according to Spotrac (they say Oct 7).

EDIT: 

Deal can’t be formally completed until September 15, when Dunn and Edwards contracts are allowed to be aggregated in the trade.

EDIT 2:  Under CBA rules, players can't be aggregated until 60 days after they've been acquired.  The trade was formally announced on August 7, so Spotrac would be correct, under the way the CBA is written.

That said, Woj doesn't usually give bad information, so I'm wondering if the aggregation rules were modified somewhat due to Covid issues.

Hernangomez's 2nd year being non-guaranteed makes this a no-risk move in my mind. Better positional fit with roster. Good riddance to 4A Carsen.
