He's coming to work hard.

Sounds like they’re planning on him being a Celtic next year!

Probably depends on how he does in Summer League.

Doesn’t sound that way to me:

Quote
Madar, who was drafted in the second round with the No. 47 pick by the Celtics in the 2020 NBA draft, is set to join the team for the 2021-22 season as well as playing this summer in Las Vegas for the Celtics Summer League team.

"I'm excited to start in Boston. I'm not planning on going somewhere else. My focus is the NBA."
Awesome! He could well not be ready for any meaningful production, but I'm excited

Yam Madar will turn down a 2-way contract from the Celtics in favor of a multiyear deal in Partizan Belgrade, with Europe's most famous coach, Zeljko Obradovic.

Fine by me. Hopefully, he'll be become a way better player under Obradovic.

Wasn't aware he was going to be offered a 2-way contract, regardless he's not ready to play for us, so better he develops elsewhere while we retain his rights... more so when now we have plenty of players who can play PG.

One of the potential hurdles in Yam's way to the 2way, was the 250k buyout from his contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv. Partizan will pay the sum, according to this report.

Yeah, my hope always was that he’d develop overseas and get another year or two of separation from Pritchard.

It's a good spot for him to get time to work on his game and body.

Signing multi year suggests Celtics aren’t that hot on him. Not for next couple of years at least.

Yam Madar completes move to Partizan

Yam Madar has transferred from Hapoel Tel Aviv to Partizan NIS, the Israeli and Serbian teams announced Wednesday.

Madar, 20, had one year left in his previous contract. He inked a three-year contract with Partizan and is expected to soon join the training camp ahead of the 2021-22 editions of the 7DAYS EuroCup and ABA League.

The Israeli point guard is fresh off his NBA Summer League stint with the Boston Celtics. He lasted three games with 4.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per match in Las Vegas before getting sidelined by a groin injury. His NBA rights remain in Boston.

The latest newcomer for Partizan had 17.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per contest in Israel’s Winner League last season.

The team led by Zeljko Obradovic has put up an impressive list of summer additions with Alen Smailagic, Dallas Moore, Zach LeDay, Rodions Kurucs, Aleksa Avramovic, and Kevin Punter coming in prior to Madar.

Zots gonna make Partizan great! The 3 year deal makes it unlikely Madar comes over anytime soon. That being said, Obradovic is one of the greatest/winningest coaches in European history so Madar gets to learn and work with one of the best. He’ll likely make it break Madar.

Chances are there's a buyout in his contract in case the C's wanna sign him.

I reckon this is good news for both Yam and the Celtics. I'm hopeful Yam will become a better player under Obradovic.  He's an amazing coach (albeit very demanding from his players).

Agreed on the potential on the buy out. Think he probably got a pay bump too so if he doesn’t have a clear path to minutes here, he might just stay.

Also agreed on Zots. Incredibly demanding. Once, I saw him yelling so hard  at Diamantidis on the sideline during a timeout, I thought he was literally going to have a stroke on the spot. He’s not afraid to chew players out in front of everyone. Hoping Madar is very thick skinned lol.
