My trade makes a little more sense now. I'd still try to move Anderson. Would have paid a hefty price for dwight myself.

What time is cff drafting?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Trade #1:

Knicks Trade: Amar'e Stoudemire, 1(20), 3(20)
Magic Trade: Dwight Howard, 4(19), 8(19)

Feel free to talk amongst yourselves.
So this means Orlando now has 2 PF to start their team.

Big win for New York in my mind, Stoudemire/Anderson is a disaster of a defensive front court. Hopefully one of the top PG's will fall for them.

Lot of pressure on IP on that 2.20 pick though.

PS: Am I right to assume this deal was done before I offered Hibbert and George yesterday afternoon?

Yeah, I would've given that a strong look but I didn't want to go back on a deal I agreed on. Maybe in a more competitive draft but I'm not in the business of screwing people over :P

Orlando has committed to playing absolutely no defense, I see. ;)

I'll withhold judgment until I see what 1(20) and 3(20) turns into, but I don't love this for the Magic.  Amare is great, but Howard is worlds better, and starting a team with Amare + Anderson brings a lot of problems with it.

You love it for the KNicks? Cuz...I love it for the Knicks.

We'll see.  Personally, I'd still continue to shop Carmelo.  Howard is a great building block, but you gave up a lot of depth.  I'll be curious to see where your team ends up.

This is as good a time as any to talk about this with everyone here:

We're committed to 1 round per day through the rest of the week. That's a done-deal.

I'm wondering if people are in favor of doing 2 rounds a day for next week? It'd mean we would only draft through next Thursday, and we could still field 15-man rosters.

Trade 2:

Orlando Magic trades: 1.19, 2.19, 7.19
Atlanta Hawks trades: Joe Johnson, 4.6, 10.6

Hmm...  Orlando was busy. Kudos to Atlanta for extracting a heavy price out of Johnson.  I haven't put together any fancy charts like my co-GM has, but my guess is that there will be some guys almost as good as Johnson left at 1.19.

I'd agree with skepticism at each trade individually, but together they look like this:

Dwight + 1 + 2 + 4 + 7 + 8 for Joe Johnson, Amar'e + 1 + 3 + high 4 + high 10. The 1s cancel out, 3 for 2 almost cancel out since I moved up in 4, and I lose a little later on. So really, Dwight for Johnson + Amar'e.

If you told me I'd start my team with Joe Johnson and Amar'e, have all my picks except for basically a late second/early third (since I now have two thirds and a high fourth to trade up), with which I got Ryan Anderson, I'd be pretty happy. Amar'e comes home, I have an ultimate pick and roll tandem and my team is more balanced/fun.

Well, the last part is the most important:  you're shaping the team in your vision, and having fun.

Playing armchair QB, I'm curious what your team would have looked like if you'd filled in your roster with the extra picks acquired from IP, or paid less for Johnson.  Regardless, though, it's an interesting team, and I'm anxious to see what you do with it.

I'm cool with next week's being two rounds

Can't speak for my co-GM's very pregnant wife however.
