Sorry if this has already been asked/answered, but do i need to cut down my team to a certain number before the draft/signings? I currently have 16 players on my roster.

I believe that Lucky has said you dont have to cutdown before the draft signings.  I cant remember what date he said it must be cutdown before, but I believe the cut down date is after the draft.

Cut down several days after the draft. We're in a grace period for now. People are free to acquire players over the roster max, as well as draft them.

Yeah, you should have a nice turnaround this year, Hobbs.

As for me, I'm going to renounce the rights to Gordon Giricek.

Was disappointed Arroyo bolted for overseas; I fully expected him to get some attention from contending NBA teams looking for help at the point. I'm going to hold onto him for now, but will likely waive him soon.

I've updated the main page of this thread with the first cuts made by teams (Hobbs, I assume you've already waived Carney; let me know if this is not the case).

Yeah, you should have a nice turnaround this year, Hobbs.

Helped by the fact that he might try to field a team this year...

I don't have any cuts to announce yet, but am looking to move one of my five point guards. I have a pg for every taste and budget, Baron Davis, Jameer Nelson, Rodney Stuckey, Ramon Sessions, and Jamaal Tinsley.

Also willing to deal my draft pick, #17. And I have four starters that qualify to play center, Pau Gasol, Lamarcus Aldridge, Nick Collison, and Nene.

Team needs a SG or PF.

Did Roy get Beasely because he has the first pick in the draft?

Did the draft start or when is this taking place? (through the forums right?)

We haven't started the draft yet, Hobbs is just tipping his hand.

I would like to get the draft for both leagues rolling soon. Does anyone have objections to starting this weekend?

Yes, that's who I'll be taking with the draft pick, assuming Beasley doesn't suffer a devastating knee injury between now and our draft.

It looks like Rodney Carney will be the guy I cut, which is too bad...  I think the guy has a lot of talent, but hasn't really showed it.  I want to hold onto Livingston and see how he develops.

OK, I've set up draft threads for both leagues. I asked Hobbs to lock them for the time being, so they don't get cluttered with chatter.

We'll unlock them soon, once everyone confirms that they are paying attention to the draft. As I said, I'd like to start it this weekend, if at all possible.

Note: only players who have declared for this past year's draft are eligible. I found this list compiled by Chad Ford just before the draft; I assume it's accurate:

Any other questions about the draft? Post them here.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
How are we handling free agent signings?  Are free agents eligible to be drafted, or is it just rookies?
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

No, just rookies. Free agents will be available after roster cut-down deadline.

How are we handling free agent waiver priority?  Another draft type scenario?

I think it would be an interesting idea to incorporate them in the rookie draft...roll the dice with dj augustin, or pick up a solid but unspectacular free agent - should lead to some fun.  Just a thought, and I understand its probably too late to make any changes.

After roster cuts, I will upload everyone's roster into the league. Any unclaimed players will go on waivers for 24 hours. People will be able to place bids on these players, with highest waiver priority winning in the event that more than one team bids for the same player.

After waivers pass, players will be free agents, and available on first-come, first-served basis.
