I am one of those global millennial kids who got recruited into love of the NBA by the big Michael Jordan push of the 1990s. I initially backed the Reggie Miller Indiana Pacers because of reg and that they always came out with really interesting jerseys, up until the Malice at the Palace put me off basketball for a while.

Then I saw the championship run with Doc Rivers and the bug three and have been bleeding green ever since. That is why you could say I am something of a later day adopter of the Celtics than a traditional 1 team fan.

Adopted Cletus as a nick name back in junior high (thanks to someone i met that just kept calling me that),  and although i hated it at 1st, made it a more accepted household name in my hometown.  So it's always stuck with me. Born in 1985, so no fun story there.

I thought I mentioned this before in this thread but I guess not. Anyway, I'm honoring the great Steve Kuberski, the guy who wore #33 right before Larry Bird - so his number hangs in the rafters.
(he also wore #11).

I know from time to time we talk about how previous era players would do in today's NBA. I guarantee you Steve wouldn't make a roster in today's game.

Pretty boring: Initials and date of birth. But I'm not really smart enough to remember too much else.

The leehi is from how one of the Seniors on the Football team pronounced my last name.  The leading letter are initial.

I almost went with the extend name they used on the football team:   leehiacocca but just to lazy to have that many letters.

Remember when scoring 40 points in an NBA game was, ya know, challenging?

The mid-90s was a very low time for the Cs. Not much to root for but tanking, and Todd Day was... inconsistent... to say the least. But one night against the lowly Timberwolves he went off for 41.

That night, he tied Larry Bird's Cs record for most points in a quarter, and when he did -- ML Carr pulled him. "You can't break Larry Bird's record, Todd," ML said.

One of ML's better decisions as Cs coach.

Surferdad was a name I adopted back in the Stone Age of the internet in the 1990's. I actually STILL have my original e-mail address from around 1997 with Surferdad in it.  At the time I was fooling around with real surfing (surfboard) and 'surfing' was a common word at the time for cruising around various web sites, thus it has a double meaning.

So, not particularly exciting and no deep meaning, but it's kind of unique and haven't heard anyone else use it on social media or elsewhere, so I stuck with it.

There was a bit character named Mobilija on ER, a show I watched religiously with my wife (fiancee at the time)...back when u had to plan ur evenings around watching shows in order to keep up...Nothing special about the character but we liked the name and named our 1st dog after him, Mobi for short. Sometimes Mobiwan Kenobi when he was a particularly good dog.

Fantastic Dog. Loved that dog...I've always been  Mobi or Mobilija in any online thing.

Name of a mischievous character from a novel that takes place in Boston... I liked how people named Mike sign posts with “Mike” at the bottom.

Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
