Little by little, Smart is writing his name in our record books. He already has his name in the top 10 of steals and 3pt made

It’s absolutely crazy to me that the next guy Smart will eclipse in 3PM on our all-time list is Larry Bird.

Bird is a top 3 all-time shooter for my mind. Crazy how much the license to shoot has changed. Imagine Larry putting up 5-10 3PA’s a game!

Anyway, derailing the thread. Congrats to Marcus. Here’s hoping he can keep it up.

So I was just thinking about it. I don't know if Kemba met teams right before his FA or had a lot of contact with them, but a lot of reports said teams like the Knicks and Mavericks would go after him if he left the Hornets. But many assumed he'd return to the Hornets, maybe not on a true supermax, but close to it. That was before we surprisingly found out Boston was a frontrunner to sign him (according to Stein, then Woj).

My question is, if Kemba goes to Dallas instead, do you think Dallas is a true Finals threat?

I feel like he would have been a PERFECT fit there too, and while DAL obviously is a #4 seed now and a contender, I'm not sure if they have enough to take down a team like the Lakers or Clippers still in a playoff series. Maybe not even the Jazz the way they've looked lately.

And when I say Finals threat, I don't just mean, "a team with a chance", I mean a team that has just as good odds as the Lakers/Bucks/Clippers right now.

I don't know if it's a perfect fit in Dallas because Luka has the ball all the time.

That means Kemba would be playing SG.

Or if Kemba is handling the ball a lot, Luka would be handling the ball less.

The Luka magic would not be as great if Kemba shoots a lot of 3s.

Right now the Mavs are very good because Luka is basically controlling the offense.

I'm not sure how Luka can coexist with a volume shooter like Kemba.

Kemba signed with a team that has 3 offensive options that needs to be fed, and the questions surrounding the beginning of the season if Kemba could allow himself to routinely fit into our offensive scheme. And he's done that beautifully to a T.

Literally Walker went from being the one man show to occasionally taking over games, while playing a lot of off-ball. He's what Kyrie should be doing in the Nets, but instead went back to his normal selfish self.

Not to mention other than KP, and Doncic, I can't really see anyone else taking away shots or minutes from Kemba.

Dwight Powell torn Achilles ! That sucks big time for him and mavs.
On the flip side they might be a trade partner in a Drummond deal

Ugh, that's a real bummer. He was quite a good high-energy starter for them
