I am going after Bill Simmons' moniker of trade Piccasso.  Here is my attempt to reshape the C's, Lakers, Hawks, and Wolves, in one monster trade:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bgf6fvd

Howard
Smith
Stevenson

Lakers get:
Pierce
Derrick Williams
Sullinger

Hawks get:
Kirilenko
Pekovic

Minnesota gets:
KG
Courtney Lee

Maybe toss a pick or two in there, although I am not even sure its needed, given the desperation of some of these teams.

Here is why each team does it:

Boston - You are taking a step into a new era, by creating your own superteam.  Bringing together three friends, to create a freakishly athletic, and horrendous shooting monster.  It is painful to give up on Pierce and KG, but you send them both to places they may consider as good teams to end their careers on.

LA - This is probably most painful for them, but the writing might be on the wall with Howard, and with his impending free agency, teams may not be knocking down the door with massive offers.  This is compounded by their luxury tax status, and the fact that they are going to want to keep their cap space in 2014 and 2015 to reload and go after guys like Lebron and Love.  Pierce could really help them right away, and fills a big hole at SF.  Williams is still intriguing, and was built for D'Antoni's system.  And Sully is just a value add.  Could probably swing him to another team if necessary.  They might also need a pick, although its tough to tell.

Minnesota - Bring back the man who put their franchise on the map for a swan song, while he helps lift their young team to the next level.  They also add Lee, who fills a need at SG, and who they coveted over the summer.

Atlanta - Smith seems to be looking to get out anyways, and this way they get an immediate replacement for him in AK47, who is a very similar player, but they also add a big, strong center, who might be a great fit to move forward with to move Horford to PF.  While AK47's player option may cause an issue for finding free agents this summer, he may opt out anyways.

I think there is a chance this deal makes all 4 teams better immediately, while also putting them in strong positions going forward.

Doubt KG waives the no trade clause to play for Taylor again  :'(

It's a dream deal for us.

Pierce would not be in favor of playing for LA. You cannot do that to the guy.

Yeah, I hadn't realized the animosity there.  Maybe he waives it, and pretends to make up with Taylor, only to retire as soon as the ink is dry as one last slap in the face to Taylor.

I'm not sure that's true.  Pierce grew up a Lakers fan.  And while he is a C through and through, players generally don't take rivalries the same way fans do.  I actually think the Lakers are one of the few teams Pierce would be OK with a trade to.

Scary though, Jeff Green would be the best shooter of the starting 5.

There is a frightening lack of jump-shooting ability in that starting lineup.

Menacing defensive lineup though. Incredible athleticism. Strong possession creation.

Hawks probably do this, the Celtics might even though it's a tough deal emotionally, and I think the Lakers and Twolves pass.

Impressively done, Chris.  TP for a well thought out scenario.

SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas

I think the only team Pierce would agree to leave the Celtics for is surprisingly enough the Lakers (maybe Clippers). Go home get a chance to play in front of his family and friends before calling it quits.

Would hate to see it though.

Yeah, I think the Lakers pass. They really need a long term star in return for Dwight Howard. An old-fogey like Pierce isn't enough. That new-look team would be very unlikely to win a title and would need to be blown up + enter a long term rebuilding process in the near future. Nowhere near enough value for them.

I think the deal is doable for Minnesota. I'd like to see them get a solid small forward from somewhere though. I am not sure Kirilenko has a long term future anyway and their new look team with Garnett, K-Love, Rubio and the rest of the guards is very interesting.

I think the Hawks do it. Pekovic is a good return for Josh Smith at this point given Smith's contract is about to expire and that they are unlikely to get full value for him in a trade. Kirilenko may be seen as a negative due to their desire for cap flexibility but he only has another year on his deal and is a good player anyway.

The Celtics are all in. Dwight Howard and Josh Smith is an incredible haul for two aging vets, Sully and an average two guard.

The T-Wolves would/should definitely pass.
and I think the Hawks get too much for Josh Smith. They'd be giddy.

Maybe if Minny kept Kirilenko and gave up Brandon Roy as a cap makeweight instead. Added in a first rounder to Atlanta for taking on Roy's contract.
