Having never done it myself, I would think not.

Paul's tough but man...that would be pretty gnarly if he played the second half that well with a broken foot.

Kevin McHale played an entire playoffs on a broken foot.  It screwed up the rest of his career to some extent, but he did it.

Right, and i have no first hand knowledge because i didn't see those finals, but wasn't mchale visabliy limited, limping, ect?

Paul looked fine for most of the second half.

I hate to speculate but that's scary. But how can it be broken, when he was walking on it.

I dont know I think there is a good chance this is true. It looked pretty brutal when Butler landed on it and they were saying it was a foot injury not an ankle injury.....

Well, it all depends how bad it is.  If he will be out for 6 weeks, then I think they could still be OK, if he is out for the season, then they should be shopping Allen REALLY hard.

Good thoughts, but what else could it be related to if Shelden is tweeting it? I don't see how it could be anything else but Pierce-related. And, Ainge did sound like he was having a panic attack when he was on the phone with Felger and Maz.

Well, it all depends how bad it is.  If he will be out for 6 weeks, then I think they could still be OK, if he is out for the season, then they should be shopping Allen REALLY hard.

If he is out for six weeks, that means another 2-4 weeks to get back into game shape. All speculation, but if the broken foot is true, the team is done for this year and no sense in waiting to break it up if the right trades are there.

Perhaps this qualifies as paranoid speculation, but on a day when Celtics forward Paul Pierce underwent X-rays on the foot he injured in last night's victory over the Wizards, it is at least curious that his teammate, backup forward Shelden Williams, would cryptically tweet the following at 3:20 this afternoon:

@SheldenWilliams: Man when it rains it pours!!! Yall will find out what I mean soon!!!!

The Celtics have not yet released the results of Pierce's X-rays. Stay tuned.
