i don't see some minutes on white and randolph is good but up and down he is, melo 7'0 cannot be seen on court but on the d-league only, so what if one of those guys i mentioned have been signed would they somehow help?

whats with the obsession with untalented 7 foot scrubs?

im not obsessed, i just want to know if what will be, look shavlik 6'10 white 6'8 timberwolves knicks new orleans etc etc; no bigman, so the question is if one of those guys are signed maybe things might turn around

theres an obsession in general on these forums with signing someone who is 7 feet. Ill take a shorter but more talented player (see sully) any day over a player like solomon "d-league 1ppg" alabi.

What happens is they sit on the bench until they demonstrate that they know where they are supposed to be in defensive schemes and offensive plays or if it is garbage minutes.

white is not given a minutes in short he no where seen to help us,randolph was playing because kg is out, but what if kg was not injured, i don't think we have seen the 13 rebounds he did,

if ever white was signed and shavik was not, and kg got injured and lets say for example ajinca or fesenko was signed, what will happen? more minutes on white and wilcox?

after all those loses its obvious that ainge signings was a failure, and again if kg was not injured we should have not seen those 13 rebound from shavlik,

you know coach is in-love with veterans,
next game detroit drummond, monroe, another?

There is a reason why Shavlik Randolph is getting more minutes than DJ White.

As a coach, Doc Rivers is basically a defense-first dictator.  He's going to play big men who understand where they are supposed to be on defense.  He's not very tolerant of a big man who clogs the middle by default because he doesn't know how to operate away from the basket.

Even before Garnett was injured, it felt as if Randolph was gaining Doc's confidence and moving ahead of White.  If Randolph were not on the roster, I believe Doc would go with more minutes for Bass, Green, and Terrence Williams in a smallball lineup until White or Wilcox or whoever was signed from your list instead of Randolph showed a better understanding of how to play defense the way Doc wants it to be played.

does it mean we can't beat the heat? as we can't beat the knicks without tyson? a legit big man?

None of those guys are NBA caliber players.

Alabi is probably the best of the bunch and he couldn't break into Toronto's lineup in the two years that he was there.

It means that Doc Rivers relies on a system for defense.  He would rather go with smaller players who can play his system than bigger players who have problems.  The Celtics have a better chance if Ainge gives Doc a mobile 6'10" player instead of an immobile 7'0" player.  I believe the Celtics would have as good of a chance as anyone of beating the Heat if Doc had a big man rotation of a healthy Garnett and Sullinger, Bass, Green, and Randolph if he had a full training camp and pre-season to learn the system.
