I think this is a pretty good idea in terms of value out and value in - but you need another team involved. Our team would be
Smart - PG
Pressey - PG
Bradley - SG
Young - SG
Thornton - SG
Stauskas - SG
McLemore - SG
Green - SF/PF
Sullinger - PF
Bass - PF
Derrick Williams - PF
Reggie Evans - PF
Olynyk - C
Zeller - C
We would have 8 guards, 5 power forwards, and two centers. A strange team indeed.
Ainge would not trade rondo for less imo. Sac wants rondo badly, so I think their owner would give it a thumbs up. However lets say to get a deal done we swap green for wallace and sac adds a pick with protective stipulations on how/when it can be given to us.
As for the roster. Who cares? It's not a team. Thats the point. It's a roster of assets, of pieces, built to lose. The season would be a tank season where we develop prospects and hope for the highest lotto pick possible to get another - wait for it - valuable asset.
I think some of those guys could play multiple positions anyways. Mclemore and young the wings, stauskas smart and bradley the guards, Williams and green the forwards, Turner the guards & SF, etc.
