I'm pretty happy this guy was still available too.  IMHO the steal of the draft so far, this man needs no introduction, but I'll let him introduce himself:

fairweatherfan

Cartoon Character:
Actor:
Government Leader: Alexander the Great.
Athlete:
Villain:
Fictional Character:
Scientist:
Super Hero: The Batman. What he lacks in superhuman abilities, he makes up for in engineering knowhow and sheer badassery.  He's even fought Superman to a standstill on multiple occasions.  On the basketball court, his tremendous strength and agility allows him to guard quick 2s and strong 3s alike.  And with the financial clout of Wayne Enterprises behind us, team fwf will never have to worry about the luxury tax.

Closest NBA equivalent:  Dwyane Wade.

Musician:
Wild Card:

Dwyane Wade can guard strong 3s?  I think you mean quick 1s and strong 2s, seeing as Batman is only 6'2".  I know cause i was in line for the Dark Knight for over an hour Saturday reading the sign.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Teddy Roosevelt was Assistant Undersecretary of the Navy at one point in time, and the Undersecretary of the Navy John Long left Teddy in charge over a weekend while he tended to family matters. When Long returned to work after the weekend, Roosevelt had conquered the Phillipines!

There's a million Teddy Roosevelt stories I love, but in a category where it's tough to find someone you can respect and relate to in my opinion, I'm taking the original Rough Rider, DMX be [dang]ed.

Teddy's a definite character

Teddy Roosevelt was very good friends with former Deadwood Sheriff Seth Bullock. True story.

Closest - I meant more the combination of strength and agility.  Plus our teams are probably going to be considerably shorter than NBA squads, so 6'2" will be a decent size for a 2/3 guy.

Super Hero: The Batman.
Batman is a great choice, in a vacuum, but I don`t know if I would want to waste the Super Hero category for him.

Eh, Batman fights people with legit superpowers all the time, and almost always comes out ahead.  Plus, he's Batman!

Yeah, he has a fantastic wingspan, according to Jay Bilas.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

good pick, GC. You think I could borrow him one night for dinner so he could tell stories to me and my girlfriend?

T(P)ouche.  It's true though - you're simply not getting a pass through this guy.

Yeah but he always comes out ahead in his own comic book where he can't lose, so chances are his villains are significantly less threatening than other super-heroes.  If you even the playing field and put batman up against say superman, I don't see him kicking that much ass.

At least in this thread all of our debates are friendly and comical.  Unlike the cutthroat arguments going nowhere in almost every other thread.

Well, that's true of every superhero in their own book, but all of them lose there sometimes too.

Ever read "The Dark Knight Returns"?  A 45 year old Batman comes out of retirement and starts cleaning up Gotham City.  By the end, all the thugs in town are worshiping him, and he fights Superman to a draw before faking his own death and escaping.  I'm not worried about him holding his own.
