well thats the thing, not alot of teams have huge money to toss at him.

And those that do are looking at Durant, Klay, Irving, Butler, Harris, etc.

This trade is good for us. They lose a good/solid player and only receive picks in return. They should be bad again next year and the pick will likely roll over into the LOADED 2021 draft. I just hope they don't improve next year either other than another high draft pick (top 6 protected) in 2020 (top heavy draft as of now).

Good news for us, though I don't dare to get my hopes up.

After last night's trade, Jeff Green indirectly led to potentially two 2020 1sts for BOS - extremely late 1st (MIL) along with protected MEM pick

With the additions (some of which won't be permanent) of Kyle Korver, Iguodala, Jonas Valanciunas, Grayson Allen, Ja Morant, and Jae Crowder...

Where do you think the Grizzlies stand as of today?

I think that there is a very good chance that they keep their pick.

Just good/bad enough to give us pick 7-9....

Can't see them as a total bottom feeder, unless the young'uns really struggle.

huh?

Which teams in the west will they be better than?

They got worse with the Conley trade, and every team except maybe the Pelicans got better. And even the Pelicans have imported some good role players in Favors/Reddick.

Like others, of course I want that pick to roll over to 2021 and land at #1, but I was just happy not to get it this season. If it ends up in the top 10 in next year's draft, then I will deal. It will be interesting to see what they do with all of the veterans that are now on their roster.

Just thought I’d bump this with the free agent frenzy just about over.

Here is how their roster currently shakes out.

PG Morant, T Jones,
SG D Brooks, G Allen, Dorsey
SF K Anderson, J Holiday, Igoudala, J Jackson, B Clarke
PF Jackson JR., Crowder, S Hill
C  Valenciounas, Plumlee, D Howard, T Zeller

They are a little deeper than I initially thought, but a lot hinges on the development of Jackson JR and Morant.   The big question is if they will be a bottom 6 team or not.

Here is who I think they are competing with for bottom feeders: Suns, Knicks, Cavs, Hornets, Hawks, and Bulls.   A team like the Bulls though could take a leap with their young talent.  Then you might have a couple surprises like the Thunder and Raptors after losing their best players might sell off their aging players like Paul, Lowry, Gasol ect to go into rebuild mode instead of being stuck in the middle.

The Grizzlies could be in the mix with 7 to 10 teams for the bottom 6.  Could be close.

If the pick carries over next year’s free agent class isn’t nearly as good.  The Grizzlies will have expiring contracts Iggy, Hill, Crowder, that will free up a lot of cap space, but it won’t do that much good if the FA is weak.

Suns and Grizzlies have the inside track since they play in the West.  The bottom feeders in the East play each other 3 or 4 games.  The Suns and the Grizz only play the East bottom feeders twice each.  I don't see the Raptors as a bottom feeder.  They're going to try to win and they'll have a hard time trading Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka.
