I would want him but I don't see how the Celtics would ever get him.

What about this?

Lebron, Durant, Howard, and Paul are the clear top 4 players in the league right now head and shoulders above the rest.  Only player who could join that group is Rose if comes back to play at his pre-injury level.

Rondo is great, but trade Rondo for any of those 4 and even Rose.  They are all transcendent players.

I agree, but I think the following two things.

1)  Even if the Celtics offer Rondo, it would not be enough to get Howard.

2)  No Rondo makes me think Howard would not stay in Boston.

has he ever played well in a big game?  Perkins dominated him because Howard did not put in the work and never really improved.  Just a big jock with no work ethic or team sense>

I think the voting will be close..alot of ppl dont want his "only me" and his crybaby attitude. But he is a top 15 player and hard to pass on

Top 4.

If he got fully healthy, top 2.  Best big man in the league.

He has been healthy and never accomplished anything when it counted--a lot of lesser athletes but better ball players out there....top 2 muscleheads..not basketball players.

The Question of the poll should be:

Do u want Dwight Howard? Or better Wilcox

Not enough.  In regards to movable parts, its gonna start with Rondo and go from there.

I'd have voted yes if I were convinced

1. Dwight Howard wanted to play in Boston long term
2. Dwight Howard could somehow mature into a player who would embrace the responsibilities that come with being a franchise cornerstone
3. The Celtics could somehow acquire him without completely gutting their roster

If we were playing the "what if" game, and none of these concerns were a factor, then sure, I'd love to have him.

I voted  "YES" because I'm despertfor the C's to land a productive BIG and DANNY SHOULD BE TOO ...LoL  :)    I'm sick of playing without a younger center who WANTS to be in the game 35 minutes a night...WANTS the BALL in the PAINT.

One thing for sure ...he'd get ALL the ATTENTION... no really attention HOGS on the Celtics now....there is room for his personallity...I think ::)

I would rather have Love or Cousins than Howard  .

Put it this way. the C's need HELP bigtime at the 5 ,  if he would come ....right now I'd have to say yes.

Also would do this with fear of knowing he'd wind up messing things up worse....

of course i want Dwight Howard... but we'd have a hard enough time getting Marcin Gortat with our assets.. let alone the best big man in the game.

Everyone is clamoring and screaming that we need a big man...... Yet people say they dont want the best big man in the league..........I dont understand this forum sometimes.....

I would love to have him here. We have a pass first PG who dribble penetrates into the key, put KG at the 4 spot for his minutes again gives us a stretch 4 that can spread the floor thus clear the paint out for dwight (sully also has a decent mid range jumper)

Add in the fact that we have decent shooters in Lee Green Pierce and Jet you can spread the floor quite easily similar to the way Orlando did in 08-09.

Dwights numbers are 17-12-2.5 in a system where he is misused. D'Antoni is a horrible coach and doesnt use the players he has at his disposal well at all. I really think the Lakers would have been better keeping Mike Brown and a system where 2 very skilled big men can  shine.

Mike D'Antoni's system is why dwight looks like crap this year because they are soley focussed on offence which means no one understands their defensive roles. and the Lakers front office are thinking about trading away their best defensive player....... makes sense :S
