  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'm going with a bunch of buddies to stay with a friend. We're getting in Friday, gonna do the whole St. Paddy's thing.

Any advice/tips/must-see's?

Southie parade on Sunday. One enormous party from early morning till whenever.

Not sure about the real st. Paddy day but any irish bar in the city should have music and good crowds

Definitely, Southie is a must for the parade.

If you want to stand in line all night long and buy overpriced drinks, look no further than Fanueil Hall.  But anywhere else should be good.  I'm a fan of Canal/Friend Street and the Harp in Back Bay.

I don't like standing in lines all night long OR buying overpriced drinks, so I am pretty psyched about your other suggestions. Appreciated.

Yeah if you're going to the parade on sunday, make sure to get into southie reeeal early.  Parade starts at 1 i think? roads will be conjested by mid morning and the T will be a mess soon-there-after.  If at all possible do not drive into southie.

As far as saturday night, as employee 8 said, the Garden area/Canal street has a good mix of nightlife with less of a fanueil feel - definitely a good spot for Patty's.
