I'm just curious, but when do all the players who are planning to return get tested? Or have they recently received tests? Because in other sports like College Football, Cricket, etc. they have conducted tests and found positives which led to them shutting down facilities. And even in baseball the Phillies apparently had 5+ people test positive, and a Western Conference contender today reported four of its players were positive. Feels like we're going to see a lot more of this in the coming week, which in combination with the spikes in FL make it tougher for the NBA to return smoothly.

I know it's just WWE but hopefully real sports leagues don't do what the WWE has done just to get their product back on television.

More than two months ago, WWE bribed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to designate professional wrestling as an essential business. The show must go on, you know. Wrestling continued but with no crowds at first. Eventually, WWE allowed their in training enhancement talent to be crowd members that wore no masks, but were socially distanced. That recently changed to even allowing family and friends be in the crowd and social distancing became a thing of the past.

The only precautions WWE took were random temperature checks and having people fill out questionnaires. They also told people if they were going to wear masks in the crowd, they may as well go home because that wouldn't be allowed.

On June 9th a WWE employee tested positive for Covid, the test being from the employee going to a doctor and not WWE mandated. Since then, WWE decided to finally test employees and over two dozen have reported being positive including several in ring performers. This is now causing some of their stars to re-evaluate their decision to continue to work and, as of this writing, at least one has decided to go home(2 others had done so at the start and others have been unable to travel into the country).

WWE in over 2 months never decided to test even one employee and never told their talent to "bubble" themselves when away from doing their performances. Essentially they took a very "Trump" like stance in their decision making, deciding to continue to stay open and ignore the fact that a global pandemic was exploding around them, even telling people to not wear masks.

And what do you know, increased testing showed increased cases. I only hope none of these positive cases have transmitted the virus to loved ones who might have severe or lethal issues with Covid.

Please, NBA, MLB, NHL, NFL and the NCAA, do not have the cavalier attitude that the McMahons(owners of the WWE) had in trying to minimize their revenue losses. You're going to lose money no matter what. Just be very careful with the lives of all involved in getting your product up and running just so you can also simply minimize your losses.

Florida with 9,585 cases yesterday. Setting records every day.

Hell, at this rate it could end up beating NY in the near future...

The season cannot resume with the craziness in Florida. Players are going to bail out by the truck load. Just scrub the season and see you in the fall.

Not saying it's not possible, but they have a long way to go. FL is currently at 141,000 cases while NY is at 416,000 (despite FL having a larger population). Every other region has had a spike, but that decreased pretty quickly. With FL going back to no bars and many counties requiring masks absolutely everywhere, they should at least go back to where they were a few weeks ago at the very least. The good news is that the death rate is considerably lower - which is really what matters in the end. Let's just hope we can get this thing contained soon. I am not crazy about the season resuming, but players should feel concerned if FL remains at 10,000 cases a day (or higher!).
