1st game simmed, DMC is POG in a Roy win with 27-17-6.

Much better scoring balance among the starters, all in double digits. Could change the game...

EDIT 1 - CFF takes Series One 4-3, but DMC is now arguably the best player on Roy. Cousins, Brand and Manu is a potent Big 3 to challenge Dwight, Kemp, Peja.

CFF takes Series Two 4-2 to wrap up Act 1, but we have a fight. Cousins as a starter gives Roy a dangerous mix of offense and defense in the starting lineup. Manu is still great, but Brand is consistently playing well, and they've given up some defense but essentially added a #1 to a playoff team. Cousins wasn't even a top 2 bench player for Roy, now he looks like the alpha.

EDIT 2 - Onto Act 2...

Roy cruises 4-1. Brand and Cousins are dominant and Manu is an elite 3rd banana.

Roy wins 4-2 as Cousins gets 2 POGs, Brand 1 POG, and Manu 1 POG.

Roy has found something. Act 3 will determine which major title contender advances!

CFF starts off hot and wins 4-2, with Kemp and Peja coming up big, taking heat off Dwight.

Roy takes Series Two 4-2, as Cousins is the biggest alpha on the court.

In the pivotal 3rd Series, Roy wins 4-2!

Cousins is Player of the Series, and the decision to start him is the tactical move of the year.

Roy will face with winner of Gouki vs. SAB!

SAB vs. Gouki Act 1

SAB sweeps 4-0 as Lanier is arguably player of the series, putting up 37-10-3 in game 1 (career high) and 22-14-3 in the clinching game 4. Deron Williams was elite as a 3rd banana. TMac was great as he nearly recorded triple doubles in the first 2 games, with 25-13-9 and 24-9-9.

SAB wins Series Two 4-2 as Lanier is POG 3x and outplays Webber. McGrady is equally good, and the rest of the starters all play well consistently. Webber / Roy are the bright spots for Gouk.

Lanier is making a case for 1st team All-NBA if this keeps up. He it outplaying Webber, flirting with the alpha role on the defending champ. Cousins' emergence tanks Brand's chances, while Cousins missed too much of the year to qualify himself. Also, Manu or Roy will replace Porter.

When I toggled Roy's center depth chart, I shifted several starters minutes up, and the worst players down/out, for the remaining teams. It looks to be solidifying Big 3's across the league.

Act 2 to come...

I think you are going to want to keep that minutes split for the finals. If not, let me know.

SAB wins 4-2 as the starters pour it on while a 3-0 lead is established. Lanier continues to be all world but Webber holds his own in this series. The difference is that if Lanier is capable of being an alpha, that means McGrady can be your 1b and that is ridiculous. Deron and Thompson are also hitting their strides with more minutes, and Nance is yet again punching above his weight.

SAB clinched in Series 2, winning 4-2. TMac was back to RR1 dominance, with games of 36-8-6 with 2 steals / 4 blocks, and 34-6-9 with 2 steals / 2 blocks in Games 2&4, putting SAB up 3-1. Then Gouki took the next one behind strong games from Webber and Porter, and SAB won Game 6 behind TMac and Deron, who took home 2 POGs in the wins that McGrady didn't dominate.

This takes us to our second Round Robin final...

#4 SAB vs #5 Roy Hobbs

These guys battled in the Bracket and battled in the Semis of RR1, with SAB emerging victorious both times on the way to titles or co-titles. Roy took the RR2 regular season series, and now has a chance to dominate the matchup this year in the RR2 finals. He inserted Cousins into the starting lineup in the playoffs and it paid dividends, as powerhouse CFF falls in the semis for the 2nd consecutive year. SAB has been here before, and its starting lineup is humming.

It should be a battle. Stay tuned for updates later.

RR2 NBA FINALS

#3 SAB vs #5 ROY HOBBS

The stage is set for a dazzling finals. It's the established alpha of the league, McGrady, going up against newly minted alpha Demarcus Cousins. DMC is flanked by Brand, who is unleashed, and Manu who is the best player in the game at times, for a legitimate Big 3.

SAB is going for the 3peat and his starters are cruising. In essence he has a Big 4 with MVP frontrunner and last year's MVP TMac, 2nd Team All-NBA guys in the past 2 years in Deron & Lanier, and the most overqualified 4th banana in NBA history in prime David Thompson.

With alternate sub patterns for TMac and Thompson, there is always at least 1 killer wing on the court paired either with another, or a 3-D ace in Hawkins or Prince. I honestly believe if TMac disappeared like a Top 75 player, DT would be the league's best candidate to replace him. They just happen to play on the same team. But Roy already beat SAB in RR2, even pre-DMC.

The title is up for grabs. Let's begin.

ACT 1

Roy sweeps 4-0, Cousins dominant.

SAB sweeps 4-0, McGrady goes supernova. POG all 4x. Game by game:

Game 1 - 33-10-8

Game 2 - 29-6-5

Game 3 - 24-9-9

Game 4 - 28-8

Rubber match of Act 1...

It came down to a Game 7. It was an oligarchy for SAB, with TMac, Lanier, and Deron winning POG in their first 3 wins. In a Game 7 where DMC was the game's 2nd leading scorer with 15 points, McGrady delivered with 27-6-6 in a 38 point blowout that mostly accured in the 2nd half.

SAB takes Act 1 winning 0-4, 4-0, 4-3

Act 2 to come later...

RR2 NBA FINALS ACT 2

#3 SAB vs #5 Roy Hobbs

SAB wins Series One 4-2 as TMac maintains dominance, Lanier / Deron each win a POG.

Roy wins 4-3, coming back from down 3-2. Brand is probably Series 2 MVP, with Cousins #2.

Roy wins 4-3 once again to take Act 2 in a well-rounded effort as SAB's offense stalls quite a bit and McGrady fails to hit his peak. Roy Hobbs POGs:

Manu
Cousins
Mookie
Brand

Onto the decisive Act 3 later today to determine the RR2 champion!

Also, go Celtics in SL today! Let's see Baylor beat the Heat!

Down to 10 man rotations.

Okur and Reddick sitting for Roy, Camby and Prince sitting for SAB.

Minutes increases for top players and top bench players alike as the top difference makers all get bigger roles. Some players made minutes caps that prevented them from being able to get the designated 38 minute spot, like Cousins and Manu, but Brand got it for Roy and TMac for SAB.

For SAB, the major changes were more McGrady, and more top bench players getting more minutes like Daugherty, Wall, and Hawkins. Blake and MRR stayed the same, but is MRR is now exclusively backing up TMac instead of moonlighting. Backcourt starters got an extra 1 minute.

For Roy, Cousins and Brand got more minutes as the top frontcourt duo will share the court a lot more. Brand went from 35 to 38 and Cousins from 33 to 35. And Roy's elite 6th and 7th men, IT / Mash, get more PT and should have an even bigger impact. If Roy takes Act 3 with IT doing his best Agent 0 impression, IT can win 6MOY. A little less AK47 and Deke off the bench.

Roy Hobbs takes Series One 4-3, and Series Two 4-2 to win the RR2 championship!

Boogie and Elton are co-finals MVPs, as they combined to win almost every POG. They dominated the matchup in the pivot and helped limit McGrady at times, as he had a quieter than average stat line and scoring load in Act 3, despite winning most POGs.

CONGRATS TO ROY!
