Nice guy, but nice guys don't win in the NBA. Too soft for this league and doesn't hold his guys accountable.

Spoeltra's a nice guy. Vogel is too.

I have some gripes with Brad, but this idea that he needs to be a raging lunatic at all times isn't one of them.

Sure, both of them are nice enough guys, but they also advocate for their players, demand respect from their guys, and hold them accountable, too. Both of them also work the refs when need be and chew their guys when they're not doing what they're supposed to.

Brad doesn't do those things. He doesn't hold any of his guys accountable, which is why they end up with these bad habits, and he simply doesn't work the refs - which is absolutely an effective and needed strategy of NBA coaches.

Smart is a perfect example. In 6+ years, Smart has essentially walked all over Brad - even chewing out his own coach on the bench on multiple occasions - and Brad has done nothing to address this or address his consistent poor shot selection at times. That's because Brad is just a soft coach and we all know that Smart is an alpha.

Beyond his obvious weaknesses in in-game management, his soft demeanor and character is absolutely another weak area of his that really limits his ability as coach.

  • STAND FIRM, SAY NO TO VIBE MEN
I just wish we would hire KG or Perkins as a assistant coach.

Sign a bruiser off the bench to give hard fouls
I would sign KG to be our backup big atp lol.

Spo is a better coach on the fact he doesnt have to play the starting 5 to end the game

Crowder wasnt doing well. Benched for most of the 4th. Dragic wasnt good on D end. Sat the 4th

Brad =  Theis should get his 30 mins.  Yank Grant who held Bam scoreless.  Theis can do better ...   ;D

That was the game. Grant only played 10 minutes with the highest +- on the team.

VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

I didn't understand the substitution either.
Just because you want to end the game with your starters is a bad coaching decision... Good coaches always go with what is working and during that time, Grant was working fine.

And don't get me started on Hayward. I realize he isn't feeling his best, but aside from those two 3s in the 1st, the guy was a total marshmallow. I like what a healthy Hayward can bring to the Cs, but I fear he is will continue to get small injuries that limit his effectiveness. If we can deal him for one of the Magic or Indy bigs, it should at least be considered. It just didn't work out in Boston for him - it happens. Look at Chandler Parsons.

Yeah this can be viewed as me just coping. But I'll admit, now that the season's over I'm at a bit of peace. NFL is back and Cam Newton + the Pats actually look pretty good. And I guess now I can just continue focusing on classes more.

Once we went down 3-1 it already felt over anyways. Plus the NBA wants the Lakers to win and it's obvious

Focus on the NFL (Niners) and soccer (Arsenal) now for me, sports wise.
Yikes...good luck with that.

I'm thinking the Celtics' ECF meltdown will be the highlight of your sports season.

Yeah there's a reason you've seen "Giannis to Miami" rumors over the past month and during their MIA-MIL series. Even through trade they can acquire one

NAAAAAHHHHH....Game was close, Marc Davis INVENTS the 6th foul on Theis.....Screw Davis...he also missed the Jaylen and one, which cost us at least 2 points. Davis has hated the Celtics since Doc called him a homosexual.

Bam was down on himself after a poor Game 5, and he actually delivered.

The foul on Theis was a blessing. Got him benched and only gave up 1 point on the possession

I'll just say, I was very annoyed with Theis this series, but the dude gave his all this season. Might as well not focus on the bad. Tore his ACL later in his career, lots of questions about the center position this year, is undersized for a center, and the guy held down the fort more than admirably for most of the season.
