Are you serious??

And why couldn't the Celts pull this off when they were 7 picks ahead of Portland?

As if this night couldn't get any worse!

Because we are so much better with Terry Rozier ???

Because Mason Plumlee isn't much better than our 2nd-round power forward.

That's a ridiculous statement!

Center is our biggest need right now and instead we drafted 32 guards.

great trade for nets
RHJ will be a good defender in the league
not so high about his shooting
they could have gotten more if they pulled the trigger on that sac trade this season

bad trade for blazers as they are getting plumlee who is a 3rd big at best
solid energy guy that doesnt neccesarily do anything great

they are starting to rebuild this year around lillard
as they know they cant compete with this core
aldridge, matthews and lopez probably leaving via free agency
batum already traded

Mason Plumlee would be our second-best center and our third-best power forward if we let Bass walk.

guys around the level of Plumlee are only good for us if we can sign them, not trade for them because he's not that good and there are and will be in the future better players we can just sign and FAs and not have to give up assets.

From what little I have read, Rozier probably has more All-Star potential than Plumlee.

Great pickup for the Nets. Exactly what they needed.

A top notch athletic defender who can cover multiple positions.

They got two middling to slow perimeter in Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. Brooklyn desperately needed someone with real quickness, real athleticism ... to come in and help improve their team speed and perimeter defense. RHJ is perfect for that. He can can cover PGs, SGs, SFs. He can defend whoever the best perimeter threat is on the opposing team every night. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams are big enough and smart enough defensively to switch onto different players and allow RHJ to fully utilize his defensive versatility.

We saw how big a difference Thaddeus Young made to the Nets in mid-season when they added his defensive quickness at PF to their team. Someone who can help protect Brook Lopez and those perimeter guys. They needed a 2nd guy who can go out on the perimeter and do the same thing. Give them proper balance in terms of team speed and defensive quickness.

I think RHJ will have similar effect on the Nets (assuming they keep T.Young + B.Lopez) that Tony Allen had on the Memphis Grizzlies when Lionel Hollins was there. I think both players (RHJ, TA) are/were just perfect for what their teams needed defensively and can help/helped push their teams to another level.

Great pickup late in first round.

Really excited to see Brooklyn next year. I think this solidifies them nicely in the playoffs (assuming they manage to keep T.Young + B.Lopez). Will make them difficult to play against defensively. Tough physical defensive team. A real identity. A backbone. What Lionel Hollins has been trying to re-create in Brooklyn.

PG: Deron Williams, Jarrett Jack, Steve Blake
SG: RHJ, (Jack), Kasarev
SF: Joe Johnson, (RHJ), Bogdanovic
PF: Thad Young, Teletovic
 C: Brook Lopez, (FA)

A center who can shoot the ball like Brook Lopez is perfect for RHJ. Creates that spacing that a team loses with a non-shooter on the perimeter like RHJ. Creates open lanes for a cutter / opportunist interior scorer like RHJ. Great fit.
