Hauser is such a weapon. Spot start and he gives the C’s 23pts/5rebs.

I’d argue he’s the best value contract in the league…$2m with his production is pretty remarkable

Hauser and Pritchard have been huge for us! I remember in the offseason Brad expressed confidence in them and many of us questioned his judgement and his construction of our bench.

not me. i always knew we were better and wondered why so many were worried about bench. joe worried me way more than any player

I think that was Brad's worry too, as suggested by his focus on hiring a top notch coaching staff this past summer to surround him with.

If you are suggesting that Brad Stevens' decisions on who to hire as assistant coaches was driven by a lack of confidence in Mazzulla as a head coach, then I don't agree.  They hired a bunch of new assistants because all the assistants that Mazzulla was "stuck with" last season were Udoka's assistants.  Many of them left on their own anyway.

So you think that the Celtics would have hired lesser assistants to replace all of Udoka's assistants that left, if they had more confidence in Mazzulla?  I find that premise illogical, at best.  Aren't they going to hire the best possible assistants no matter who the coach is?  That they hired the best available assistants suggests nothing about how "worried" Brad Stevens was about Mazzulla.

The difference is that this season, Mazzulla has "his" assistants, and had them from early in the off season.  He didn't have to start the off season at the last minute, taking over Udoka's assistants, many of whom it turned out didn't want to be there anymore anyway.   It was not an easy situation for a young coach to step into.  The team was good, but there was turmoil.  Night and day as compared to the situation this season.

And if they win we move 7 up on best record overall (magic number of 5).
