I would love to see that, but I don't understand why Minnesota would trade Towns.

A Sabonis/Brown trade intrigues me.  I worry there aren't enough shots for Brown, Hayward, and Tatum.  Sabonis might solidify our front court.  Although, I really haven't seen enough of him to be confident in that.

Then trade Hayward. I don't understand why brown should be the odd man out in that case. If you think Tatum is a loge term All-NBA guy then it makes sense to build the rosters timeline around him. Hayward will be 30 this year and either opt out, or not be worth the money and opt in. You want to pay for his 31-34 ages on his next contract?

I say lets see how the season goes, who plays well, and move from there.

Hayward's $30 million per season is much harder to move and I'm skeptical that Brown will ever be the player Hayward is.  Brown is likely to get a huge contract after this season and he's a 65% free throw shooter who averages 1.5 assist per game.  I like Brown, but I don't feel good about locking him in long term at huge money.  Trading Hayward now would be selling low and we'd have to take back a big contract.

None.

It's preseason.  I think he's trying to figure out what he's working with here first.

I've always liked Beal but if we're dealing Jaylen, it'd better be for a big man, not another wing.

doubt it.  Might cut Strus to keep Tacko but I think Green will be cut or asked to join Red Claws if possible

I'd rather we use draft capital to get a strong big man in a trade, or draft one.

Problem is that our draft capital devalued since we have spent most of it, and two other teams--the Pelicans and the Thunder--have acquired significantly more, and would out bid us on any trade for a major player like Towns. Who most likely will not be available for 2-3 years anyway.

That trade doesn't make sense for Boston because after it, Boston still isn't in the same class of team as Philly or Milwaukee (let alone the western teams).  And by eliminating Brown and a bunch of future draft picks, long term flexibility is removed.  If Boston still had Horford and Irving (along with Hayward and Tatum) that type of trade would make a  lot more sense.

Of course Brown makes no where near enough salary to acquire Beal and it is very difficult for Boston to come up with the salary needed without trading more than half of the team or including Smart, Walker, or Hayward in the trade (which makes it much less appealing).
