HOPE JOE BLOW L;EARNED PLAY QUETA AND BANON IF GUYS ARE OUT

KORNET CAN GIVE U A FEW POINTS AND REBOUNDS BUT IS A HUGE LIABILITY DEFENSIVELY

Queta, despite his impressive rebounding stats, was a defensive liability himself. Bogdan and Young were canning 3s while he was in drop coverage, failed to get anywhere close to a contest. Luckily Joe replaced him with Banton and put the team into a switch coverage, cutting down on those open 3s.

Banton in the starting lineup makes us huge. He looks almost as tall as Tatum.

Missed the game but saw some high praise for queta. This is great news as he's been unhealthy recently and will take some time to work himself up to game speed. Looking forward to it.

I’d like to see more Queta. Opposing players think twice about going into the paint with him in the game. He’s a rebounding machine, too. Grabbed 10 boards in 15mins.
He definitely had an impact as the C's once again gave up way too many offensive rebounds - but things stabilized a bit with him out there. Hopefully Joe keeps using him.

We're just not a strong offensive rebounding team - if you look at Cleaning the Glass, we only have three players that are above the 50th percentile of players in their positions when it comes to fgOR% (off rebs off FGs) and ftOR% (off rebs off FTs). Obviously the ftOR% is dependent somewhat on who we have defending the transition in the backcourt but for ORs off FGs we only have Jrue, DW and PP above 50th percentile, and they are all  guards (that said Jrue and PP are both above the 90th percentile amongst other guards when it comes to offensive rebounding). Our frontcourt of Tatum and KP are both in the bottom 25% of players in their position in OR.

Much-maligned Luke Kornet is actually in the 48th percentile of centers when it comes to making offensive rebounds, and in the 43rd percentile in terms of defensive rebounds. Worse that the median for sure but acceptable I guess for a third string center? Especially when you look at him being in the top 25% of centers in terms of blocks. We all know Joe Mazz is a stats nerd, maybe that's why he keeps Luke around  :police:

Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Nice to see Joe giving props to Queta and Banton in the post game presser.

Deservedly so. They stepped up and did well.

I think when healthy, this team could have an awesome 9-man rotation of the usual starters + Horford/Pritchard/Hauser/Queta, and hopefully Brad can get a legit 3rd big at the deadline.

I do think Banton and Brissett can help in spurts. Not every game of course but from time to time depending on matchups. Banton did well today. I still want to see Lamar Stevens though
Why is he in the doghouse? I understand that, as a 2-way, he has a limit on the number of games he can play. Still, I don't know why he is not used more when toughness is called for. With Cleveland he played more than 60 games 2 years in a row. His career per-36 is 12 points/6 rebounds/ 71% FT.

Two games in a row Kornet comes in and the lead disappears because teams just go right at him and he cannot stop it.

Well its nice they can win despite shooting 27.7% from three. They were pretty awful in those cases last year.
