He's with the suns and they don't want him- tried to send him to Toronto for a second round pick.
He's worth more than that when healthy, and his knee is bad now, but boy would it be good to have him come in a relieve Ray Allen.

Seems like he could be had for dirt cheap and his defense alone would be worth it.
Seems like the guy we need (along with a center).
Defensive specialist who can guard Wade off the bench, who can knock down the three in the corner.

The Suns had a deal in place to send Mickael Pietrus to Toronto for a conditional second round draft pick, but it was cancelled once Pietrus was found to still be ailing from the knee injury which sidelined him for the last 12 regular season games last year. It’s clear the Suns do not want Pietrus on the team this year, yet Babby was diplomatic in discussing the issue on Sunday.

“We had a transaction that we couldn’t consummate, and we’ll keep working at it,” Babby said. “So he’s still part of this team and will be treated with respect as we try to get him healthy.”

I think these days the MLE is too valuable for a guy like this.

I think the MLE is the new 10mill per year in the NBA.

Well I'd take the guy for a 2nd round pick, or dangle one of our young guys at the Suns.
Guy has deep playoff/finals experience and has played with and against the best.

You can only use the MLE to sign free-agents. Not to trade for players.

Plus, he's injured. If the injury was no big deal, Toronto would have kept him.

His knee is busted.  Nobody knows when he'll even report back to the court this year

Id love to have him but we are pretty deep at the 2/3 slot already. Id much rather spend money or a pick on a big instead.

Pretty understandable why a team with Los Nash wouldn't want a guy like Pietrus....He plays defense.
