A friend and I were talking last night, and upon hearing Ty Lue trying to talk KG into coming back and playing for the Cavs this got me thinking....

Would 40 yr old KG start on this Celtics team? I think he would, and would be one of our best bigs. I don't know if that speaks volumes to how bad our bigs are, or a compliment to how good KG would be in specific areas.

By the way, KG would be perfect for that Cavs team. They need some defense and he can still anchor a defense.

  • On To Banner 18!
Of course he'd start.

Who'd he have to start over? Amir? KO? Zeller?

Pencil him in the starting 5 and we would be on to Banner 18, even with a 40 y/o KG.

Horford-KG front court would be fantastic.

No. He would not.. His tenure during the Nets was tough to watch. He was cooked as cooked geese comes served.

I guess what we need to look at is KG vs. Amir. Amir is asked to defend and try to get rebounds. I think KG is a better defender (if that's all he has to do) and would rebound better than Amir.

KG played pretty well defensively in Minny on limited mins of course.

He wouldn't start. There's no way he could keep up with the perimeter guys in the league.

As a bench big he'd be an incredible leader and calming presence but it's fairly clear that he's long past his prime. Better to go out when he did than hang on too long.

But boy has he landed on his feet with Area 21, love that!

He could not play at all during the end of his time in Minnesota. I love him, but he was not having a Dikembe Mutombo like end of career. Injuries had overcome him.
