76ers to release Booker to sign Ilyasova.  Did he lose a step?  I liked his game.  Could be good add.

He is probably better than Amir Johnson at this point who looks absolutely wiped. Surprised the 76ers didn't waive him.

Just saw Corey brewer released by LA.  He would give us some depth at sf
Thoughts?

I wish we could get a young big who could defend and rebound.

Do you think he’d be any better than Ojeleye?  I’m not even sure.  He can defend and I like how he runs the floor, but that’s about it.

Ojeleye might end up to be a good solid role player.  This year i see as being able to give us 10 minutes or so of solid defense, at times good defense and hit occasional 3.  But many times he really does nothing to help (or hurt) the team.
If brewer can be had affordable I'd rather his game for partial season and have Ojeleye loose some minutes but be back for next year

Is there a relaxation of the no-tampering rule before a player is released?

Seems there's almost always a pre-determined destination for these players. Is there even a 24 hour waiver period where another team can sign them regardless of a player's wishes?

Are GM's allowing them to negotiate with other teams before being waived or bought out? Is this hush, hush and yet simultaneously a widely accepted practice?

I agree with your premise. It seems like (with every bought-out player except Booker) they already have a new destination before they are free. It does seem illegal.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Booker is already "booked" for the Indiana Pacers after he clears waivers.
