Could this be Trae’s last game as a Hawk?

Hawks need to trade Trae Young. He’s one of the most overrated players in the league. Atlanta’s defense is so bad with him on the court.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

They think it’s a MCL injury. MRI today. I wouldn’t expect him to play Friday nor in the first round

I'd trade Murray over Young in a vacuum. Obviously the trade package may dictate, but Trae is a more impactful player than Murray is. He is also the bugger draw and for a team like the Hawks that matters. Obviously if they get a much better offer for Trae, you trade him, but with similar trade packages, I'd keep Trae and move Dejonte
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson

I wonder what the market for Trae Young is.  He's definitely a flawed player, so that has to hurt the value, but at the same time he can be like Iverson if you can build a team around him.

Spurs are a trendy pick, but I wonder if we'll see a team out of nowhere.

Like Bucks after getting bounced in the 1st round trying to move on from Lillard to shake things up, maybe a 3-team trade where Lillard finally ends up with the Heat. something centered around:

Bucks get Young  (or Murray + one of Capella/Hunter/Bogdanovic)
Heat get Lillard
Hawks get Herro, Rozier, picks (though both Miami and Bucks are light on picks)

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

With the NBA so tied to sports betting they're not going to let the Heat play any games with injury reports.  I can see the NBAs partners cancelling bets if inaccurate information is made publicly available. That's not a good look for the league or the sports books.

I think regardless, Butler is highly unlikely to be available over the next week. Shams said "indefinite period", Woj says multiple weeks.

If the Heat are in the first round, I think even best case scenario is probably him coming back around Games 5-6. Not before. He could barely walk last night too and was a passenger on the court in the 4th.

But all that said, I'm not sure Miami can beat Chicago tomorrow without Butler. They will have to really rely on Bam, Herro and a few others but that didn't go well for them late yesterday either. Chicago might also feel motivated for revenge, remember they played Miami in the play-in last year too and blew a lead which eliminated them while MIA snuck in.

The spread is narrowing but MIA is still favored by 1.5 pts.  Home court is probably what is making the difference.

CHI is a 39 win team.  MIA is not much if any better without Butler.  Not a lot of sizzle for a playoff play-in game.  With Butler, MIA was cruising to a win vs. PHI.  Probably beat CHI easily with Butler.  Now who knows.

As to the Celtics, I don't care.  We should be able to beat either team.  It shouldn't matter.
