YOU WANNA PLAY A LITTLE GAME?

It's easy and doesn't cost a lot of time. We're going to do a re-draft of youngsters in the NBA.
All you have to do is vote (max 3 players once a day in one post).

The players that are eligible for this draft are under restriction of age (as of January 1st) and experience (both factors are equally important):

Player is 23 or younger, less than 4 years NBA experience.
Player is 24 or younger, less than 3 years NBA experience. (etc.)

This means that players like Aaron Gordon (5th year in the league) or Buddy Hield (26 years old) are not on the list, since they don't qualify as young or inexperienced enough to be seen as youngsters. I had to draw the line somewhere. But we do have a big talent pool, with a soft pre-selection that has left all relevant players (i.m.o). Hopefully this will be fun.

What are the rules?
  • Vote once a day in one post
  • Name three players in order (order important in case of ties)
  • You're allowed to vote multiple days for the same player(s)
  • Please vote seriously and on players that haven't been drafted yet
  • Try not to discuss too much (makes it easier for me to count the votes)

Since the top positions are most interesting, there are more votes required for a player to be drafted. In case of ties, the players that's mentioned first by the decisive voter will win. I'll give an overview below of the players (arranged by age) that can be drafted and those that have been drafted. PM me if you have questions or remarks.

I'll try to update the draft in this opening post every morning (which means night time in America). It's up to the popularity of this topic, whether we'll do one draft round of 30 picks or that we'll play a second round as well.

Of course you can. The point is that a player gets drafted when he has the required number of votes. For the 1st pick, there are 10 votes required (see OP). Doncic and Tatum have 2 votes now, while Fox and Towns have 1.

Please come vote everybody! You have more influence here than during the general elections  ;D.

If I'm doing it correctly, Doncic has 6 of 10 votes needed to be overall #1 pick, including 2 votes from me as instructions said we can pick same player (though once per day).

Edit:  Would it work better if we were allowed to vote multiple times for same player, but not in same position?  (in other words I can only put Doncic in first position once...then if he didn't get in as first pick I could pick him again for 2cnd pick).  That might make it so that the few playing posters don't have all the influence.  To get all the picks picked I think you just need about 15-20 posters, unless there are big discrepancies in opinion and everyone has different ideas...but so far everyone like Doncic at #1, so I think it'll work without all that many posters playing.

Or just stick to original rules is fine (as I understood them it's fine on next day to pick same player for same position).

Which position you put him in is only important in case of a tie. For instance if Doncic and Tatum both have 9 votes, and the next poster votes Doncic first and Tatum second, then Doncic wins with 10 votes, since he was named first on the decisive vote.

So in general it's just about the number of votes a player gets. In my OP you can find the current standings.

And thanks for voting. We need a few more participants and then I think we get this draft really going.

1. Simmons
2. Ayton
3. Fultz (just kidding) - Towns

I'd have Bagley, Doncic, and Tatum as the next 3 (I really like the Zinger but his health would scare me away).  All of this could look a lot different in 3 years, just so much uncertainty on so many players.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
