It's crazy how Brown put up 25/8, Tatum 28/11, yet it feels like normal games from them nowadays  :o

Terrific seasons and terrific growth from the Jays this season

Remember 1981 when Bird and Max, our two young forwards, led us to the title.

Nope. Because I wasn't even close to being born by then

It was beautiful to watch - coming back from down 3-1 to the favorite Sixers in the ECF. Game 6 in Philly, Max goes into the stands after an abusive fan.

Sounds fun. But I prefer this time we go 16-0 en route to Banner 18  8)

Love watching Hayward when he’s in that zone. All his jumpers falling, great body control at the rim.
Yeah, when he's on he's so much fun. For me he just plays the game the right way - unselfish, looks to make his teammates better, can score from everywhere, can defend and rebound. Just does it all well. Jack of all trades, master of a few (finishing at the rim, passing and that mid-range turnaround) ;D

It's games like this that you realize how unselfish Gordon is, especially when everyone is fit, or when one of the Jays is feeling it. (Kemba is the same.) He could easily take 15-20 shots a game and average 25 but as Tommy said in the post game, "he's not looking to take 20 shots, he's looking to take the right shot and make the right play to make his teammates better". Very rare to find a All Star caliber player willing to defer to 21 and 22 year olds who have the world at their feet right now. And he cops it from people who think a max deal player "should be demanding the ball and scoring 25+ a game [dang it]".
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Someone laughed at me when I suggested Theis will get offers of 15 mill and up per (probably 2-3 year deals). I still think that is very possible. He has been cold from 3 this year, but his really excellent defense is what keeps him on the court. Super switchy. Totally insane that we have him for next year under contract too, I do wonder if he may be offered a raise...

Maybe a fully loaded MLE....say 4 years/$41 million. So $10-11 million a year I could see but that's max. I think his value is south of that number.

Yuh, I'm prepared to be wrong. But being laughed at now seems a little excessive.

Guys like Capela, Thompson, Drummond are less valuable than Theis now, I would argue.

My favorite thing about the game last night was that 4 players scored 25 points, and all of them except Theis seemed pretty ho hum.  Hayward, Tatum, and Brown each got their 25 and it wasn't anything that seemed out of the ordinary.  Considering the team has close to 4 players at 20 PPG, getting them the occasional game up at the 25 point mark doesn't seem that crazy, but then you realize it hasn't been done since the early 90's, and then you realize how special this squad is.

Man Theis has been an underrated BEAST this season. He showed potential two years ago but last year was unfortunately injury riddled + plagued by the locker room issues.

25/16 tonight in less than 30 minutes  8)

Who needs Drummond LOL
Lol, Theis & Kanter > Drummond!
tonight, Theis was.  Kanter's production the past few weeks has fallen off from the first few months of the season.

I wonder if it has something to do with his hip injury?

Poirier gave us some godawful minutes today instead of riding Kanter. He basically screened Brown for an open Wolves three.
I hope not, and I haven't read any suggestion of ongoing issues for Enes.  I'd like to think that it was because Brad couldn't take Theis out.   ;)

Yeah and it didnt come from exceptionally hot outside shooting. Only 9 made threes between the four of them.

According to ESPN this is only the 2nd time that 4 players on same team have gone for 25 points each...

And this was without our humble leader Kemba playing.

I love this version of Gang Green.

I think he'd get offered a Dwayne Dedmon sized deal after this season. Team's really aren't valuing centers who aren't all-star caliber anymore with big dollars.

Fortunately the C's have him locked in for another year.

The last 10 games for Theis:

MPG 27.3
PPG - 12
RPG 8.3
BLK .8
FG - 47/88 - 53.4%
FT - 23/28 - 82%
3 PT - 4/14 - 28%

BTW, those "28" free throws above?" Refs overlooked about 10 other fouls as Theis isn't a superstar...until last night.

All of this for $4.8M/year

Just where are you gonna get that?

Germany.

It's weird, but I don't think that is actually Channing Frye in that picture (far left).  Frye wore #7 in NY.  Ime Idoka wore #8 that year, but it definitely doesn't look like him either.  I think that's actually a picture of Brandon Jennings in a #3 jersey from his time with the Knicks many years later.

That is not Channing Frye, for sure.

Theis' TS% splits per month is exactly what you want to see...improvement every month all the way to an elite level so far this month.

Oct: 40.2%
Nov: 55.7%
Dec: 63.1%
Jan: 63.9%
Feb: 67.9%

Good observation.

If Hayward had not been injured this season, I posture that he would be averaging about 20 PPG; he is closing in on 18 PPG as is.

How many teams have had 4 guys average 20 plus PPG for the entire season?
