Bill Kennedy gifts the game to the Rockets at the end. Officials taking over yet again. SMH.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Strange ending. Loose ball foul. Two FTs. Game over.

GSW choked it away at the end. 3 straight turnovers including back to back 24 second violations. They had it. They gave it away.

I thought Houston played great D but their offense was an eye sore all night mainly because their starting guards let their team down.

VanVleet = 3-13 FGA for 8pts. 7 assists but 4 turnovers.

Jalen Green = 5-15 FGA 2-2 FTA for 12pts. 3 assists with 5 turnovers.

A combined 8-28 FGA for 20pts. 10 assists against 9 turnovers.

Awful. I see this happening again and again for this Rockets. Their two starting guards inefficiency killing them. So many games it is both guys who have stinkers. It would be one thing if one played well and the other played badly but often it is both guys stinking up the joint.

I wonder why Steve Kerr didn?t challenge that call? I mean perhaps upon review the refs change it to a jump ball?

Jimmy Butler has added Phoenix to his list of teams. The only possibility I can see is Devin Booker. This is an unfair trade given Booker is just entering his prime and is a top level player. However ... the team would fit together much better with Jimmy than with Booker.

G: T Jones, M Morris
G: Beal, Grayson Allen
F: J Butler, Okogie, Ryan Dunn
F: Durant, O'Neale
C: Nurkic, Plumlee

Jimmy would be a major upgrade to their defense & toughness. Phoenix has looked lousy without Durant largely because their forwards have struggled. Booker and Beal overlap with one another far more than Beal & Butler do. It would be a smoother fit.

I wonder if Miami could make that work by including further assets to make it more interesting to Phoenix. A Herro & Booker starting backcourt with Bam at center. That is a nice trio to start retooling your team around.

How about this one

NY trades Mikal Bridges to Miami
Miami trades Jimmy Butler to NYC

Mikal Bridges has not exactly set the world on fire since joining the Knicks. Jimmy Butler is a more well rounded player. He can handle the ball and pass. Gives them more secondary ball-handling on the wing while staying big. Jimmy is more physical defensively & offensively. He has that superior shot creation. Jimmy is scrappy. He fits that NYC style of hoops Thibodeau likes and Knicks fans like dating back to Riley's teams and JVG's teams in the 1990s.

Meanwhile for Miami, they get a younger piece. A guy who is not as good as Jimmy. Not a franchise guy. A borderline All-Star at his best to a notch below an All-Star. A younger guy they can pair with Bam & Herro moving forward.

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I think we can agree that the epoch of gruesome 7 game series with the Sixers and the  Bucks is over?

I don't think he has trade veto power, but he does have a player option for 2025-26 ($52.4M).  I guess that gives him some leverage to say if you trade me to X, I will decline my option and become a FA at the end of the season.  Of course if he does that, there is no guarantee that any of the contending teams that he likes will be able to pay him.

I am guessing that Riley is not happy with the whole situation, that Butler is putting out teams he would be willing to be traded to (if in fact Butler is the source of these rumors).  I don't think Butler has as much leverage as this would imply.  If they trade him to somewhere he doesn't want to go, what is he going to do?  He can opt out and become a FA in July 2025 but I don't see how he gets anything close to $52M from any team except the one he is on.

If he is traded, I don't think it will be to a team on his list.

At the same time, not many non-contenders, if any, will have any interest in Jimmy Butler given his (1) age = 35 years old (2) injury proneness in recent years (3) salary.

So Jimmy's words won't be effecting his market much.

Lebron apparently is missing time due to personal reasons. Some speculate it's because of all the recent trade rumors, but others think it has to do with his association with Diddy and that whole mess. Either way, it could get ugly for LAL soon.
