I’m a North Conway native.  I remember doing Easter Egg hunts at the Red Jacket when I was a kid.  It’s sad, seeing such an iconic business get destroyed.

How there was no loss of life, I’ll never know.

Not me personally, but I am sure my uncle has stopped there a few times over the years.

I have been to Delaney’s Hole in the Wall though.

I used to work at the Red Jacket on the Cape. Those who work a full season would get a weekend at the North Conway location. Sad situation.

I'm from Conway actually, and I just heard about this yesterday. It blew my mind. The Red Jacket is a town fixture, lt's a landmark everybody knows. Its prominently featured up on a hill with a long grass frontage to the main road through town. I've driven by it literally hundreds of times probably.

Attitash was my mountain of choice when I went skiing when I was younger. We always stayed at this cabin in Jackson, but passed the Red Jacket like thousands of times over the years. Set back on up the hill. It looked like a giant mansion from 302/16. Always wanted to stay there one weekend. Never got around to it though. Sad to see it destroyed.

Saw that a week after the Red Jacket fire the North Conway Holiday Inn had an electrical fire.

My cousin’s favorite inn is closing now too. The Eastman Inn was sold to new owners and won’t continue as a bed & breakfast.
