I'm excited about Jaylen. He's looking flat out dangerous out there.

Jaylen's Tony Allen 2.0.

A better version of Tony Allen and with a 3-point shot.
That's about the very worse player comparison I have ever read here.

Did you see the Tony Allen before his season ending knee injury?

I've seen Tony Allen play a ton of games. Great defender. Nothing like Jaylen Brown.

That's why I said a better version of Tony Allen.

I think Jaylen will be better but just not any kind of version of Tony Allen...

Hopefully it's going to be Horford and Tatum for AD.

I don't want Smart included in the trade for AD.

As important as Smart is to our identity and overall play, Al is just as important, if not even more important. Really need to keep him moving forward, especially if he'll opt out of his final year and give us a deal in exchange for a four year deal this summer.

For the salaries to match, either Horford or Smart must be included.

AD's salary for next season is 27m.
Without Horford's or Smart's contract, no way Celts come close to 27m.

Well, that ultimately depends on (a) whether Brown AND Tatum are included, (b) if Rozier would be willing to work out a sign and trade with NOLA, and (c) where our draft picks land.

If we end up getting a higher draft pick and pick for New Orleans, we can sign him, wait thirty days, and add that salary as part of the trade, which could get you approximately another $6M or so added to the deal.

Rozier's new deal will not be the basis for a sign and trade.
It will be his base salary.
That means even if Rozier's new contract is for 15m per year, he will not count as 15m in a sign and trade.

That's still $7.5M that we could add to the deal, which is a significant amount given our lack of those sized contracts that we want to trade. Add that to Tatum's $7.8M contract next year, and you already have $15.3M. If we get lucky and get a higher draft pick in the top 4, we could get close to the needed salary with just those three alone, always adding a Yabu to make up any difference.

I checked, Celts will not come close to 27m without Horford or Smart.

One has to be sacrificed to make the deal work.

Celts can choose between Brown and Tatum but Smart or Horford must be included.

You keep throwing out this $27M number, but that's what AD makes - NOT what we would have to send out in salary.

If I've done my math right (ethicist here - so no guarantees on that  :P), we'll only have to send out approximately $21.6M in salary to meet the 125% + 100,000 rule, if I have my rules right. So that's certainly within reach without including any of Smart, Brown, or Horford IF we would S&T Rozier and IF we get lucky with a higher draft pick, sign him, and use him as part of the trade salary.

You must have missed this

C's would only need to get to $21.6 million in outgoing salary.

Tatum $7.8
Brown $6.5
Yabu $3
Williams $1.9

Then sign the first round picks we choose New Orleans and you make up the difference.

So neither Smart nor Horford nor Hayward would need to be traded.

Yeah, but why include Brown and Tatum?

I don't think it's wise to include both Brown and Tatum?

I'd rather keep Brown and give up Horford.

Horford's getting old.

Celts will be fine with AD, Baynes, Theis, and Rob Williams as the bigs.

Great win. So many good things happened. Tps for everyone,  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
