By vindicated I  would mean he dodged a long term bullet by committing to kyrie, and that kyrie is fools gold living off of one big shot  from a few years ago

Would make no sense for them to be worse with a All-NBA 2nd team player on their roster.  Also, I assume they'll also be adding another star like Jimmy Butler.

Flip side:  If Boston wins 35-43 games without Kyrie, does it vindicate Kyrie?

Also, even if the Nets did get noticeably worse with Kyrie, it wouldn't "vindicate" Ainge.  If anything, it would make Ainge look far worse, because it would suggest that Ainge was incapable of recognizing that Kyrie was the problem, made a massive mistake by hanging onto him instead of cutting his losses mid season and getting some small value in return for him, and made a terrible mistake counting on Kyrie returning when all signs pointed to him leaving us high and dry.

How much sense did it make when we were worse this year after adding kyrie to the Celtics roster?

It was a worthy gamble.
Even if he leaves.

Unless there was some other trade involving the BKN pick and the shell of IT that you're aware of, it was the right move

Well you argue that the 18-9 celtics were worse than the 17-18 celtics

He could have kept the pick

Not a very valuable pick. The only guy I would've liked to see us take is SGA, but I feel like Brad would've played Terry ahead of him anyway.

Why would he be vindicated?  It’s not like Ainge traded  him or refused to offer him a new contract and ran him out of town.  Danny wanted him to stay and Kyrie chose to leave.

It’s getting lucky and dodging a bullet not vindication.

Of course they will be better, but who cares?

Irving is the prototypical trap player: good enough to win you games, not good enough to win you anything in the post season. He should play for the Knicks or Hawks, they would love him there.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I still for some reason hold out hope for him to sign with the Knicks - they deserve each other.

i enjoyed watching Kyrie alot , he is entertaining player. His skill set is top guard level.  But his mental makeup is all over the place.  If he had Kenny Smiths attitude , he d be one of th best guards ever.

Ruined by Lebron who taught him how to be a diva

Im glade he traded broke IT for Kyrie . Great timing  catching Cavs in a bad spot.  Letting Davis go was another matter.
