Who has a brighter future, Jayson Tatum or Luka Doncic?

Seen this argument on Reddit a lot, with reddit NBA talking about Doncic being better than Simmons, Tatum. Some users still agreed that Embiid is the better prospect, but while clearly Tatum has regressed, his shot selection has been dreadful and he's never been an excellent passer. Doncic is special in that he can score, pass, and is only 19 years old while averaging ROY numbers.

Who do you think has a brighter future?

Personally? I still would take Tatum. I think him taking over in the playoffs, taller slender frame, and his improved 3P% stroke from last year can only prove that he will be a top 15-20 player in a few years, not to mention his ball handling seems almost as good. Obviously, he's not on the level as Luka, but personally I feel like Luka's ball handling is sort of herky jerky at times, and he manages to get away with some advanced moves only because some players aren't used to him.

Imo Doncic. And it's not even close.

I'd trade Tatum straight up for Doncic in a heartbeat.

But then again, I'm European. Perhaps I'm a little bit biased. Doncic is more or less portrayed as the second coming of Drazen Petrovic over here. He's been receiving accolades by the media across Europe since he was 16 or something.

For those who may not be familiar with Drazen Petrovic, let's just say that the guy is considered the Michael Jordan of European basketball.

as much as I love Tatum, I think I'm leaning towards Doncic because he seems to have a much better feel for the game and doesn't seem to have a hole in his game.  Tatum needs a lot of work on his passing and ball handling.  His D can be very unfocussed at times too.

granted I haven't seen much of Doncic and I don't think he has the same shooting skill as Tatum but I don't think he's far off.

Luka is more of a sure-thing than Tatum is.

Higher skill level. To have that level of ball-handling, passing and shooting ability at such a young age is absolutely remarkable.

It would be hard to conclude that Luka is not the better, more poised and polished player right now.  And given that he is a year younger and that there isn't a truly compelling reason that Tatum is behind in development (injury; non-exposure to the game...), not sure how logic could get anyone to conclude that Tatum has the brighter future.  Jayson is gifted and he could overtake Luka, who may turn out to be closer to his finished product based on his experience in Europe, but the better bet right now would have to be on Luka.

Doncic, and it isn't really close. Doncic has a chance to put up 19/6/5 and become only the 4th rookie to do that. The others are all Hall of Famers:

Michael Jordan who did it at 21.
Grant Hill who did it at 22.
Oscar Robertson who did it at 22.

Doncic is doing it at 19.

I gotta go with Luka. He just has such a natural feel for the game at 19 years old. Even when his scoring is off, he still impacts the game. I think he's only going to get better as he gets older.
