Echoing the sentiments of others, I would do the 26/30 pick.

Is the deal even financially viable? Nance's salary is more than the 125% +100k. Not sure if I've missed something obvious

Isn't Nance undersized and always seems to be injured? He doesn't even seem like an upgrade. Great deal for The Cavs.

Larry Nance is 6'7"....

I agree with the sentiment...

I'd rather attempt one of those late first round steals that happen just about every year.  I don't think Nance moves the needle.  I'd also rather combine 26 and 30 to move up rather than give them both up for Nance....

or were people saying 26 or 30, not both.  I still don't like it.  I'd rather stash Poku.

Great. Another undersized big. Just what the team DOESN'T need.

Nance will have a finals moment. He's essentially an athletic Daniel Theis with a little slower defensive rotation.

Love Nance, but this is the worst trade proposal I have ever heard of.

I like Nance and this draft isn't great but that's a horrible deal. Pick 30 I might consider it but the team still needs a real center if they deal Kanter. This doesn't work for me until we get that Center.

What do you consider a real center?
Guys 6'9+, at least 250lbs. Have 7'+ wingspans, can bang and protect the paint. With so much focus on pick and roll we forget you also need size with mobility to stop lob passes over the top.

Nance is like 6'7 240lbs it's what Theis is. Plus we have TL. Do we want to rely on all undersized Centers?
I'll rely on all of my 6'5 Ben Wallaces and Wes Unselds
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Not real bigs!

If a guy can play big a guy can play big, it's really that simple. Grant Williams plays much bigger than Tracy McGrady, yet is inches shorter than him

Agree.  Add PJ Tucker.  And boy would it be nice to have Ben Wallace around here...

It would be a valid trade, but you have to add the salary of the pick as well.

Kanter $5,005,350
Poirier $2,619,207
14th pick $3,644,040
total: $11,268,597

Nance Jr. $11,709,091

It works with #30 instead of #14 as well.

Kanter $5,005,350
Poirier $2,619,207
30th pick $2,040,480
total: $9,665,037

$9,665,037 x 1.25 + $100,000 = $12,181,296.25 > $11,709,091 (Nance's salary), hence it would be a valid trade

Only problem is that drafted rookies may not be traded for 30 days after they sign their contract. Basically we'd have to wait for a month before we finalize the trade. Not a problem whatsoever. For instance, the Cavs did a similar thing in 2014 when they traded Wiggins (#1 that year) + Bennett in a 3-way deal for Kevin Love.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking would be the case. We'd have to either pick for Cleveland or pick someone the Cavs are hot on at 30. Guess it would all depend on our draft board

Been a big fan of Nance but injuries has hurt him..he would flourish on this Celtic team
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I love how they say that Nance is the “most obvious target.” Uh. How?

Rather have Kanter honestly. Giving up a lotto pick to boot? Hard pass.
