Or adjust and start Morris or sub him in asap?
Game 6 1st quarter is crucial
-
Well, we saw what happened in game 1 when CLE started Korver and we started Morris (over Baynes)...so, yeah, adjust and start Morris with Baynes off the bench. Basically, Baynes should be out there whenever Thompson is on the court. Horford needs more room to work.
-
Nope. You start Morris and you attack Korver AND JR Smith with tatum and brown
Attack Love with AL and Morris can do the dirty work

I agree
Hopefully CBS is quicker this time

Yep. Go with Morris and it's back to games 1 and 2 where it's just an absolute domination. The Cavs should not be able to play Korver and Love at the same time. We should play lineups that have 4 offensive threats. If you put Love without Thompson, who is guarding Horford. If the answer is Kevin Love, good luck.
-
But is Thompson really the guy to sit here? I know Smith and Hill are the Cavs' defensive stoppers, but they have been pretty dreadful. Korver could probably step in for Smith and the Cavs could take their chances with him on Brown - which worked pretty well when he was Dikembe Mutombo-ing him all over the court a couple of games ago.
-
JR Smith cannot guard Tatum nor Brown. He plays and starts just in the hope he gets hot and hits 3s..that is his only purpose
Korver cannot guard Tatum nor Brown. It is ugly to watch
Al will roast Love
Those 3 guys are why they Cavs suck on defense. Our biggest issue is if Rozier will play within himself and take what Hill gives him.
One thing is for sure...IF there is a game 7...I feel Rozier is going to go off

Lue would be an idiot to bench Thompson for Korver. That'd play right into our hands and virtually guarantee us a game 6 win.
If anything, I could see him rolling the dice with Korver in for Smith. You've not really been able to stop Boston's offense anyways, so you might as well bring in the extra offense/shooting, spread the floor, and simply try to outscore Boston.
Not saying that's the smartest move, but I could see Lue making that change over Korver for Thompson.

If Smith is hurt that's another injury that hurts the Celtics....

Why not just start LeBron, Smith, Korver, Love, Thompson. Bring Hill off the bench. No more Clarkson.

Celts would full court press Lebron. Tire him out quicker
And with no second ball handler on the team, Cavs could be trapped harder
so no, they won't do that
-
Starting Korver would be playing to the Cs advantage. Baynes could sub Horford sooner and keep Horford fresh.
-
Play Baynes when Thompson plays minute for minute.
If Korver starts, start Morris and just have Brown/Tatum/Morris attack the paint.
That lineup also puts Horford on Love as well.
-
If the Cavs go back to Love at Center you go back to starting Morris.

I'm not so sure given how much better Baynes has played compared to Semi.

Then you aren't paying attention.

How so?
Semi has a TS% .406 this series and has a +/- of
-2 (blowout win game 1)
+1 (blowout win game 2)
-7 (blowout loss)
-14 (near blowout loss)
DNP in game 5
He was really good against the Bucks but hasn't done much against PHI/CLE. I think the C's overall are better off in a game where the Cavs stick with Love at C but Semi isn't a part of that. Its more the other wings and Horford carving the Cavs up in that match up.
-
Feeling more and more comfortable with Baynes starting game 6 regardless
Baynes can battle Love, Horford on Lebron, Brown on Korver, Tatum on Smith, Rozier on Ghill
Need Baynes big body to make Lebron think twice before driving in
-
Key to game 6 is easy run them off the court don’t let LeBron rest. That is the way you beat them.

Good strategy

Korver guarded Brown quite well in Cleveland.
