Dwight Howard will stay with the Houston Rockets, league source tells @TheVertical. No trade.

Teams ultimately did not make win-now moves, except for those that feel pressure simply to make the playoffs (Wizards).

League is so top heavy thanks to Warriors / Spurs / Cavs, everybody else knows they've got no chance.  No point in giving up significant value to add a guy like Dwight / Horford / Whiteside etc.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Unsurprising.  To trade for Howard you'd have to be willing to give up significant value and be asked for more $/years in the offseason.  With cap space so widely available it just doesn't make sense unless a team was absolutely determined to have him long-term.
