Notes:
Celtics come into the preseason with 16 players if Sam Cassell is signed while the Sixers have 20 on their training camp roster.

The Sixers have two former Celtics in Theo Ratliff (Yes, he is still alive) and Justin Reed.  Justin is a good defender and a nice kid.  I hope he catches on with some team although it is a long shot that it will be the Sixers who will have to cut at least 5 players before the season starts.

The Sixers will be a better team than they were last year with Elton Brand in their starting lineup and they are being picked by many of the experts  to give the Celtics a run for the Atlantic division title.

We can't take much from a preseason game as coaches try to limit starters minutes and play their benches while looking at players to see who will stick and who will be cut.  Expect Doc to give a long look at Darius Miles, Patrick O'Bryant,  Gabe Pruitt, JR Giddens and Bill Walker to see what they can give the team.   We will probably also see a lot of Tony Allen as Doc tries to give him some confidence in the preseason since he will be called on for a bigger role this season.

I know it is way early to post the game thread but I can't wait and figured there had to be others out there as anxious as I am.

There's something exhilarating about seeing a game thread pop up, it's starting to feel like the season is truly upon us once again. Fun times ahead.

Nice team logo's

Thank God, Euroleague friendlies are a decent lenitive, but I was really starving for this.  And, as always, thanks FLCeltsFans, your work is truly appreciated. The teams logos are indeed terrific.

I hope DIRECTV for me gets hooked up in time. We always unsubscribe right about when the regular season ends each year.

Honestly, I'm most excited about watching the high-flying players (TA + BW + Giddens + and maybe Miles) . I think it's just a fascination that I have. Do any of you like that even though you don't know why?

Regardless, I hope Pruitt and Miles and POB play more. Afterwards, hopefully, we will have more to discuss.  :D

I worked at Mullins Center for 3 years and I have never really been fazed by any of the specials events we've had.  It was really cool working at concerts and seeing some artists up close like Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews and UConn players and stuff like that, but I was never in awe because they were not things that were true dear to me.  I always thought that the only true event that I might not contend myself is if I got to work a Celtics event, and now that it is upon us, I am living in Cape Cod no longer working at this place.

It sucks that I will be seeing this game on TV rather than live, but it's all good.  The Olympics basketball satisfied my taste for a bit, but it wasn't Celtics ball.  I cant wait to evaluate Miles and our young rookies that I have heard so much about, especially high flyer Green.  I am pumped!

I don't think Powe will start. At least I hope so.

And by the way: Cory Underwood replaced Reed on the training camp roster. So only one former Celtic.
