This is genuinely sickening to me.

Maybe it makes sense on paper, but it's a player I really like a lot for a player I really don't enjoy.

Genuine source of anxiety.  And I'm still at work.  Ugh.

Feel the same way. Kyrie's more talented and younger with a better deal and will probably age a lot better than IT, but lacks that grit that IT brings.

very glad I'm home, less glad that I already just ran. It'd be nice to run of the sudden anxiety about this potential move.

A swap straight up? I could handle that but I don't see Ainge doing anything else.

And I feel like IT has gotten better since becoming a star. Kyrie I haven't seen that sort of growth.

Not to mention we'll be giving up young players and valuable contracts to get a player who is as good as IT right now.....

I kinda hope they ask for too much so we don't have to second-guess this forever. But Danny's job is to look into this sort of opportunity. Feels wrong no matter how much sense it makes on paper. But so did the KG/Pierce trade I suppose.

Cannot be a straight swap due to their respective salaries.

Kyrie makes 17 million IT makes 7 million

For me, Kyrie is basically Deluxe Jamal Crawford.

Talent to take over games.  Obviously an All-Star type on the offensive end, on an individual basis.

I'm just not sure his actual impact overall is in line with the impression he leaves as a result of his isolation / rim finishing / big shot prowess.

I'm not sure Kyrie has ever tried to make anybody else on his team better.

Thomas is obviously a scorer first and foremost, but I think he's a leader, whereas Kyrie just wants to be the guy who takes and makes the shots that matter.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
Depends on what the other pieces involved are, but I'd be on board if it goes down.

Welcome to the trade rumor cycle, IT. You're officially one of Ainge's Celtics.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Kyrie makes 17 million IT makes 7 million

Then it won't happen. IT/Crowder for Kyrie? Slight overpay that Ainge never does.
