Aaaaaand my Tatum crush grows stronger by the game.

Had no idea his defense was so good. He might be on the verge of becoming one of the best rangey wings in the NBA.

I’m telling you. The player Tatum best compares to is.... Durant

And explains why Danny wanted him and took the gamble to trade down to #3.
Brad actually spoke to this a little bit in the pre game tonight.  They asked him about having Smith in for a pre draft workout and he said they really liked him - but that the chance to pair Tatum with Jaylen Brown was what ultimately swung them.

I saw an article on that but it's "coach speak".  Danny saw the way that Durant's length bothered Lebron in last year's final.  That's why he brought in MM but with the ability to switch, which Brad's defense is predicated on, when necessary Lebron off to Smart or Jaylen.  Now he has Tatum to add to the tool chest from which Brad can draw on defense and on offense Tatum can shoot over Lebron and take it to the hoop.

Marcus Smart: 27.3% 3 pt percentage.  League average is 36.1%. Wouldn't be so bad if he didn't attempt so many....lol.  That said, I hope they re-sign him.

Thank you. I'm going to eat now. The nervousness made me extra hungry.

Classic Marcus Smart game...3-15, 2-11 from downtown, abysmal shooting but one of his 2 3s was when the game was on the line and some serious steals and effort plays down the stretch. If he could shoot he would be a really good player.

He's going to start hitting shots. He's just getting all his misses out of his system early in the season. ;)

After last game, Heinsohn mentioned that Smart looks like an elite shooter in practice.  In games, it seems like a mental block/thinking too much type of problem.  Hopefully, he can figure it out at some point.

At least 2 of those were late in the shot clock (4 sec or <) after someone else who didn't want the shot passed off to him.  With no one cutting to the basket or otherwise open, what's he supposed to do?  Eat the ball?

{Channeling Homer Simpson} "mmmmm, basketball" while drooling.

Omg. Dr J. You nailed it. I've been trying to compare those drive moves to a more recent player but Dr J it is. I also do see a bit of the Iceman too.

It's that crazy length smooth moves. The way he avoids contact. It's a thing of beauty!

It’s got to be mental. He’s missing wide open looks from all around the arc.

He was brutal tonight.

And of course in typical Smart fashion, he comes up with a series of huge plays down the stretch.

You can blame Baynes and Horford for a few of them.  At least three times they had the ball within five feet of the basket and kicked it out to Smart.  What is he supposed to think if they won't shoot the ball at the rim?

If Smart could just shoot about 35 % and be more deadly from 12 ft in  I d take that given everthing else .

His release never looks the same to me , it varies shot to shot too much.   He aims its a brick everytime.  Still has not practiced enough .   IT and Ray Allen just practiced all,the time.
