  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
With pick 12.7, their final selection, the Portland Trailblazers will select the best player from the late 80's/early 90's Cavs Brad Daugherty.

Before his back gave out, Brad was a guaranteed 20/10/4.  He was an incredibly efficient scorer, whose career 15.5 AST% is elite for a center.  He was the 1st pick in the draft sandwiched in the draft between Ewing and DRob.

Playing in the center heyday with an injury shortened career has really diminished Brad's place in history, but he was incredibly talented, efficient, and dominant player.  Just a real shame his back gave out and he was done at 28.

I'm still weirded out of the fact that he's a NASCAR analyst.

Great pick.

In the continuing quest for bench players who can offer something a bit different than my other bench guys, the Atlanta Hawks are going to select Tom Chambers with the 8th pick of the 12th round.

Chambers gives me more of an offensive orientated perimeter PF to go along with my twin towers of Ralph Sampson and Robert Parish.

Petrovic was a cool pick. He'd be even better in today's league than he was during the early 90s with his explosive and highly accurate long range shooting.

With 12(11) the Celtics select Tim Hardaway
I was tossing back and forth between Timmy and KJ. They were my top two PGs on the board.

Welp, that's unfortunate that I ended up with 2 shooting guards lol. That's alright, it won't matter that much anyway.

The MIA Heat for pick 7 of the 11th round is going with - not YOURvydas...MYvydas...but

ARVYDAS! The YOUNG Sabonis.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18tnToDLHV4

Took much wrangling and diplomacy with Russia but we got our backup Center to keep the offense flowing with Shaq getting a breather.

Arguably one of the best PLAYERS in the world in the 80s.

Clap Clap Clap!!

Surprised he lasted so long

This dude has a LOT of stuff on youtube about him...shame that he couldn't make it over in the 80s.

I guess POR picked him? But ATL could've drafted him?

I think a young Sabonis and Dominique would've caused some ripples in the East back then.

Can you pick an international year?!?
No, which really makes me see the pick differently. Sabonis never really played up to the levels he did internationally in the NBA. In the NBA he was only okay to good. Never elite.

It would be like picking Grant Hill but only being able to choose from years that were post injury Grant Hill. Kinda paints the pick in a different light. But its 12th round and these guys probably see little playing time so it's not going to matter when looking at Miami as a whole.

We can't?

EDIT - NVM - saw the rules comment. So unfortunate that we can't use the international Arvydas.

Its what you had on the list you gave me. The first guy was picked. The next two guys were SG and both were available when it came time to your pick.

Nope. Just NBA and ABA seasons.

Yeah, I'm not trying to blame. I was really hoping AK47 was gonna be there, so everyone else on there was sorta random. It was in between classes, so didn't think about it much lol.

Got a bit confused because I remember someone asking the same question and the answer was we could pick anyone. All good, though.
