The Detroit Pistons are finalizing a trade to acquire Utah Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic for Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee, sources tell ESPN.
(From Moranis' link)

Starting to feel like Detroit is cooking with gas, strong offseason for them.

DA brings in KO, after getting his lost draft pick Colin Sexton back. Building the team he always wanted while the quietly tanking for Wembanyama. Not a bad gig.

The Jazz are now up to 18 guaranteed contracts.  Someone useful is likely to get cut, or could be acquirable for no more than cash considerations.

Ainge gets his guy back.
Seems like a light return for Bojan without draft picks unless Ainge really reallly like Saben Lee.

In a vacuum the trade is fine, but in the context of the supposed value he had from media reports, you're correct:  it seems light.

I always thought the reported value of Bogs was high.  He’s good, but he makes a lot of money for a role player, and is thus more difficult to trade purely due to matching salaries.  I think Detroit had to use their TPE from Grant to make the deal work, if my memory of everyone’s salaries is correct.

The question is do the Jazz actually like Lee, who was an early 2nd a couple of years ago, or not?  If they like Lee and Olynyk was filler, it’s not impossible he could be cut, which could be a potential godsend for the C’s.

Why did the Jazz do this trade?

Saves them about $5 Million, makes sense now.

Celtics should be trying to absorb Gay to use as salary filler at the deadline, but the Celtics ownership is cheap so that won’t happen

Gay makes for bad salary filler because he’s owed $6.5 million next year.  They need unencumbered salary.

According to Shams on some show called the Rally earlier today, the Lakers and Pacers have engaged as recently as this week about a Turner/Hield for Westbrook trade, but the Lakers have been unwilling to put both of their unprotected 1st's on the table, believing they can potentially do better with both those picks than Turner and Hield.

Guess turner is off the block

https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2022/9/21/23365879/lakers-trade-rumors-myles-turner-chad-buchanan-indiana-pacers-bojan-bogdanovic-utah-jazz

Maybe the lakers change their mind last minute to include the picks, but doesn’t seem to be a big advantage of doing the trade now. Perhaps Westbrook rebounds under ham. I just want to see the drama.

I think it is safe to say that Crowder wants out of Phoenix

What is his problem, issue?  Why does he want out?  He is the starting PF/Swing on a championship contending team, getting good minutes.  Is his issue with the owner and that whole thing?  Seems like that was dealt with and he is selling the team.
