i know Davis is a top 5 player but giving up 4-5 players might gut the team
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I dunno about that. Say Horford, Brown, Sac pick, LAC pick and maybe Rozier if need be.

That’d leave us with:
Davis / Baynes / Williams
Tatum / Theis / Yabu
Hayward / Morris / Semi
Smart / (FA signing - maybe Crawford) / Wanamaker
Irving / Lemon

Obviously Lemon and Wanamaker would barely get minutes, as we’d have to stagger minutes so that at least 1 of AD, Kyrie or Hayward was always on to ensure we don’t get bogged down on offence.

That team wins rings
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

It must be Brown, kings pick and Rozier S&T,
1.we can afford to lose them for Davis
2.Brown and Rozier get paid their money and play together
3.don't have to trade our free agent signing
4.NO get a star and a near star and a potential future star going on for a rental
everybody is happy

Brown and Rozier are soon to be getting max or near max but both of them haven't prove they can consistent playing like that, Davis is for sure worth more than the max kind guy, it make 100% sense to condense your talent on this move

KI.GH.AD on max while AL step back, when Tatum is getting paid GH can step back

Sure Davis would be great to have, but stop and think for a moment.  Trade for him next summer and give up a bunch of assets for what?  A 1 year rental?  Same for Leonard and the same for Butler.  You would have to be insane to trade much for a 1 year rental.  I may proved to be wrong but I think Toronto was crazy unless they just wanted to dump the salary.

Well obviously Ainge would have to know that AD would resign through the back channels before entertaining the trade.

Question, is there an extend and trade possibility with Rozier?

If we extended Terry and then immediately trade him to NO can the increased value of the contract be used to match AD's contract?

Terry wants his own team and if he and Jaylen team up with Jrue and the Kings Pick(Sekou Doumbaya/Zion Williamson/Nassir Little) in NO, that's a good core for them to build around.

This is the key.  Did Toronto know?  Miami with Butler?  If they KNOW, then for sure.  But I just doubt they "know".

I would definitely give up something like Brown and Rozier and whatever combo of picks/prospects they wanted.

If they twisted Danny’s arm for Tatum instead of Brown, I probably still do it. Kyrie/Brown/Hayward/Davis/Horford would absolutely sicken the rest of the league, GSW included.

We’d probebly have to include Morris for salary, but we should be able to fill out the bench with a couple scorers (Crawford?).

I would lay everything out there for NOP to see what they would ask for. AD is worth paying for.

Thats not how it works though, you don't give whatever they want, you give the best package they can get

The only way this is possible I think is if we wait until next summer, and we offer some combination of Brown/Tatum (just one), Rozier (S&T), Kings Pick (hopefully it's high, which makes the cap hold higher) and then probably some small salary filler (but not another max-guy of ours). OR Brown + Smart + Kings Pick + Filler.

But otherwise, we'd have to deal one of Hayward/Horford straight up to make it work in terms of salary-matching. Trading away one our 2 biggest (and only) big-name FA signings in FRANCHISE HISTORY would be a bad look. Hayward especially after just 1 season and another filled with a tough rehab. Horford too though as we took him out of a pretty good situation in ATL (Likewise, Hayward with Utah).

Love AD, but I don't think it can or should happen. I just hope he either stays a Pelican for life or maybe goes to a team like Chicago (his hometown). Just PLEASE NOT the Lakers!

If we do need some salary to make a trade though, then Smart's contract extension could actually come in handy there (I think it's about 12M in trade value by next summer, about or very close to 1/2 what AD makes)

Yeah I don't get why people mention Hayward being traded. It isn't happening

Especially considering how much Stevens likes him, both as a player and a guy generally

Isn't this tampering?

No, the NBA has essentially changed this rule to ignore tampering by players.
